After reading previous reviews on this hotel I was a bit dubious after my employers booked me in to it, but I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel and the staff. The hotel was of a good standard, clean & tidy, the room and bathroom both more than adequately met my needs for the three nights I was there.
My luggage was delayed on it's way from Amsterdam and the reception staff went out of their way to track it down and get it to me. The hotel bar is pleasant and the food & drink good, the breakfast in the morning was more than adequate to set me up for the day, plenty of it and nice & fresh too.
The hotel is situated very conventiently for walking into the main town and surrounding areas.
All in all it was a very pleasant stay and I would recommend the hotel.

Avoid this one! Looked like it was built in the 70's and not updated since. Small shabby rooms with heavily stained indoor/outdoor carpeting. Very noisy and smelly. Bathroom was even smaller with a 2'x3' tub and shower combo that leaked all over the room. No toilet amenities(soap, shampoo, etc.). About a 20 minute walk to the train station or the Christmas Markets but through a questionable neighborhood. One night we walked back to the hotel to find a group of men outside the entry and one of them vomiting all over the sidewalk. The kicker was our room rate. Guaranteed reservation was for 75 euros per night but were charged 94 euros a night. Complaints to the manager were met with a "take it or leave it" attitude. Never again!!!

Stayed here overnight enroute from Vienna back to UK.
Booked this hotel as we are familiar with the Ibis chain, so we knew what to expect. The hotel is well located on the edge of the city centre and has underground parking for guests.
Unfortunately the hotel is in dire need for refurbishment; the bathroom in particular was manky. Shower tiles were coming off, there was dirt around the fixtures, the sink basin was broken and the room itself was tired.
I think this may be the reason why the room price is notably lower than other Ibis hotels.
Allowing smoking at breakfast was an uncomfortable experience and strange to UK guests, given the ban on smoking in public areas. Breakfast itself was a limited cold buffet, not to the standard of other Ibis hotels.
Shame as the reception staff were polite and spoke good English. The Ibis chain is predictable, but value for money. This time however, was a hotel to forget.

Fine hotel, nothing wrong with it. Room quiet and big enough and shower is Ok. Did not use the breakfast buffet. Ideal location, very close to the old centre of the city (which is quite beautiful). Hotel parking is €7,50 per night (not a very big parking garage).
