Our family group consisted of two brothers, their wife’s and our mother. Of the group, two had never been to Pairs before. We stayed at the IBIS Paris Sacre Coeur for three nights. We choose this hotel for; its cost (75 Euros per room); ease of transportation, and nearby amenities (such as restaurants and grocers). Prior to our stay at the IBIS Paris Sacre Coeur, we stayed at two other IBIS hotels in France and found them to be clean, with small rooms (by US standards) but very acceptable given the rate that we paid. Unfortunately we can not say the same for the IBIS Paris Sacre Coeur as we found it to be sorely needing a major renovation.
Front desk. The staff working the front desk was generally cordial but only a few seem to have much experience. Also their level of service varied with whom you were dealing with; we asked one person if they could chill some champagne for us in their refrigerator and they were happy to do so. Yet on our last day when we asked anther employee if they could store our luggage (3 suitcases) for an hour or two – he flatly refused. No explanation or anything – just, “No”.
Parking. The hotel recommends an inside lot that is directly behind the property, it appears to be a former garage, but is manned. The rate is 25 Euros a day.
Rooms. The rooms were by far the biggest disappointment. When we went to our room on the first floor we noticed the air conditioning did not seem very cool (it was only about 25C outside), so we notified the front desk. Some time later, they arrived and pronounced it satisfactory. However, as we turned in later that night it was very clear that it was not working correctly plus the room had a very unpleasant odor in it. So we swapped to another room on the 2nd floor and found the same AC problem there. Finally (at 1:30 a.m.) we moved to a room on the third floor where the AC worked well. While it reeked of cigarette smoke, we were exhausted and decided to just live with it. The first floor and third floor rooms had similarities in that the bathrooms were dilapidated with minuscule showers. The rooms’ carpets and bedspreads looked as if they’d never been cleaned. Lastly one of the rooms had a bright pulsating light outside that the curtains could not contain requiring a blanket to be placed over it.
Food. We never ate at the property as there are so many other options nearby. For a very nice (and expensive) dinner we recommend The Diapason in the Terrass Hotel (a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel). It has very good food, but the view of Paris is really what you’re going for – it’s exceptional! We also found a very, very good Indian restaurant that I unfortunately cannot recall the name of. But to find it you just exit the hotel, run right and then walk a block or two, then turn right on Rue Houdon Street, it will be on the left hand side in two hundred meters or so

I stayed here with my boyfriend on an extended weekend to celebrate my birthday. I booked via the ibis website and we paid on average 75 euros a night.
We arrived by train at Gare du Nord from CDG airport and walked from there up to the hotel, which took around 10-15 minutes. We later found out that you can walk "underground" from GdN to La Chapelle metro station, from where it's only two stops on the No. 2 line to the hotel, but honestly if you're not lugging too much stuff around it's no problem to walk. (Keep your eyes peeled for dog poo, obviously!)
We had a pleasant check-in (I speak passable French and this was acknowledged, which was nice) and were given a first floor room. As other reviewers have noted, the elevator is an absolute joke - we both managed to get in with our weekend-sized cases but honestly, there is no way a third person (or someone with more than 2 bags) could get in. Getting out was another story, the door opened outwards into a very small hallway (only two room doors off it) and as it opened the wrong way we had to get out separately. Complete misconstruction, but hey. The first floor room was OK but we figured the nightlife outside would be hotting up towards the weekend and requested a room further up for the Fri and Sat nights, which was granted, no problem. So we ended up on the 5th floor. Try to go even higher if you can (6th or 7th) - and request a room looking out onto the Boulevard - despite the traffic you get a much better room and the morning sun (and a view of the top of the Eiffel Tower!)
The rooms themselves were small but clean. They were not refurbished, but to me cleanliness is all and it was clean, no doubt. The double bed was small (what in Germany is known as a "French" bed), so Americans may find it cramped (their Queens are way bigger than anything you get over here, IMO!). But at that rate, and in that location, I have no complaints at all.
The location is brilliant - you have a choice of two Metro lines and three stops all nearby. Restaurants are plentiful (either down the hill or up towards Montmartre). We didn't want to go too far as we got in late and had dinner at L'Annexe, which was delightful (up the side street to the right of the hotel and about 200 yds up towards Sacre Coeur, it's on the left). Then we walked up to the basilica and enjoyed the amazing nighttime view over the city. Beautiful. it's a great area.
My only complaint would be that on the day we left, we checked out and I asked (in French) whether we could leave our luggage until we returned later that afternoon because our flight was at 7 pm. The guy on reception said no, point blank. Then he got sidetracked by the phone and another (trainee) receptionist came onto the scene. I asked him whether it really was going to be a problem and he said, no, of course not, why? (And I hadn't misunderstood, there was another couple there and he'd told them the same). So we did get to leave our stuff there after all. Go figure.
All in all I think I would come back here, as the location was superb and I don't believe in paying more than you have to. I'd always rather pay out for a nice dinner, because you can eat like a God in Paris, and we did... (Chartier - my favourite for years, L'Annexe, and Le Suffren are good tips).

Stayed here for 4 nights with my 85 year old mum. I was apprehensive to say the least as had looked at loads of hotels and found dodgy reviews on a lot of them!! It was absolutely fine!! Hotel is fairly modern, very clean, small rooms but comfy beds.Breakfast was very good value with a good selection, making a good start to the days sightseeing! All staff were very pleasant and helpful but didnt all speak good english. Luckily my schoolgirl french came back to me and this helped a lot.
The hotel was in a great location for getting about-- just below the Sacre Coeur and Rue de Tertre in Montmartre. The open top bus stopped nearby and also the metro 2 mins walk. There were plenty of economical restaurants nearrby in the side streets offering 3 course menus from 9 to 12 euros. As my mum is elderly we used taxis a lot and found them very reasonable---10 to 12 euros to cross Paris.
September was a great time to go as hotel fairly quiet and paris not too busy--reasonable queue lengths--book tickets day before if you can for Louvre-tourist office next to metro-2 mins away from hotel. All in all we loved it and I wiil DEFINATELY stay here again and have recommended it to friends!

This is a very cheap hotel to be located not far from Paris Downtown.
Rooms are nothing spesial. I could say that this is a 2 stars hotel. Small but clean.
If you are expecting to stay in a big luxury hotel then you should pay a much higher price and not stay at this one.
On the other hand if you are looking for a cheap clean tourist hotel in Paris... then you should stay in this one.
