For a Wyndham, this was very . . . average.
Common areas and rooms alike are in okay shape. Nothing special, nothing bad. Just average.
Location is GREAT no matter where you are going in the Silicon Valley, right on the light rail line.
Room was clean, bar and restaurant are a bit pricey.
For an adventure, try Linda's Light Rail Lounge next door, a classic 'dive bar' by any standards!

Wow. What pleasurable experience. The check-in person Jane did a great job and was able to check me in early despite the check-in time.
After seeing some of the other reviews on this site I wasn't sure but took a chance after reading some of the negative comments of surrounding hotels.
What a refreshing stay. I will highly recommend to my colleagues.

Not a Wyndham quality hotel. Avoid

My job requires 80% travel of which 75% requires overnight stays, which means I have stayed at many hotels over the last 20 years. The check in process at the San Jose Wyndham was a harbinger of things to come
First, I reserved a room with a king size bed and subsequently received email confirmation. However upon arrival I was informed by the clerk - Garrett - that my room was not available and I was given a room with a smaller bed for the same price as the king size I had reserved. There was no compunction or attempt to rectify the error. His explanation despite my confirmation was a simple – ‘we did not charge your card therefore we did not hold the room.’
As I walked up to the newly assigned room the corridors were littered with drinking glasses. As I approached my room I even found two of the drinking glasses at the end of the hall shattered on the floor. I had to walk around it to get into my room.
Once in my room, I called the front desk to express my dissatisfaction but was met by disinterest from the man who answered my call as "Bill". He made it clear he was not concerned with my discontent.
I was so taken astonished by his indifference that I decided to document the issues with my camera. Besides the broken glass in the corridor, the air conditioner would not operate - the room was uncomfortably warm. The sliding doors to the closet were off the track and did not slide. The room was set up for a fridge but the unit was not installed. The carpeting and the walls were stained.
I work for large international company with frequent business to the San Jose area. I have updated the system to remove this hotel from the company list.
Great Value!

I was looking for a place to crash for a night and just relax after flying in from the East before heading down the coast a bit for a retreat week. The place was a perfect value! Using the ByRequest benefits I was welcomed with wine, fresh fruit and a very comfortable room. I was even offered free breakfast and a Sunday edition of the local paper. I could only say the bed was a bit cheap in quality but the room was clean, the bathroom well equipped and the staff were most accommodating. I stayed on the 9th floor, which is for club members, so my experience may be better than some of the other reviewers.

Great Stay

Recently returned from a stay here at the Wyndham San Jose, where I am a member. I had a great stay at the hotel, room was nice and the bathroom was plently large. Though did not have enough counter space to put things on. I was on the Club Level floor take in mind so the noise from the party going on in the meeting rooms was not a bother.
Only thing I have negative to say about the hotel was I returned at 11:15pm from an event I had went to and had to drive around for 45 min to find a parking space. There was so huge party going on in their meeting rooms. You would think when they know about this they would put aside parking spaces for "Paying" hotel guest. Other wise the stay was great.
