We booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary and had the most amazing 3 nights. Hotel is perfectly located on the docks, with walking distance to city, Salamanca place and other attractions. Rooms are absolutely stunning with double shower, spa, tea/coffee making facilities and well stocked bar fridge. Staff are extremely friendly and very helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Artwork throughout the hotel is beautiful with unique pieces of art work in the rooms. We hired electic scooters (owned by the hotel) for the day and was able to see many of of the local sites. Having stayed in many hotels aroudn the world my husband and I would highly recommend this hotel.

I was really thrilled to discover the Henry Jones Art Hotel, as I was not involved in the decision to stay there! The style is a combination of rustic and contemporary, and I loved the artworks placed all over the hotel. The position is great, with the Salamanca markets less than 10 minutes walk. The room was large and comfortable, with a slick modern bathroom with large bath ensconced in a glass box in the corner of the space. It had the usual mod-cons, and a stack of Tassie tourist DVDs as well as some books about hobart. My biggest gripe, no wireless internet, and you have to contact reception daily for a new password though they do have cables for those who forget to bring theirs (oops). My second gripe, the room was a bit low on clothes space, mainly an issue as I was there for a week in winter. The service was excellent. The concierge organised restaurant bookings and a hire car, we got maps and advice promptly and with a smile. They even offered an evening turn-down service! Breakfasts were quite good, but pricey if not included in the tarriff. I ate at the hotel restaurant once, and it's probably one of the better dining spots in Hobart, and definitely the best of a poor choice on a Sunday night. Again, great food and service at moderately high prices. Would definitely stay there again.
