I booked a 1 bedroom executive for 2 nights to stay for a weekend and I don't regret my decision.
It was only $150pn for sweeping views of the river (I called up and specifically requested an apartment on the highest level possible and views of the river...I think you need to keep in mind you must request things like these instead of assuming. It'll make the stay more worthwhile).
At first when I saw the roadworks outside, and hardly any parking available I was a little bummed but the good service and apartment eased my anxiety. It is not noisy if you ask for a higher up level. The lifts were fast but non-jerky so staying up high was not an inconvenience.
The apartment was spacious, well lit and has all the amenities plus a big balcony + deck chairs to relax on whilst enjoying the view. The bed wasn't A+ in terms of comfort and the blanket was extremely average. However, LCD TV with Foxtel, Airconditioner and a fan in the bedroom were also big bonuses (It got quite warm with the sun coming in during the day through the floor to ceiling windows).
The only thing I had to complain about is the "heated" spa. It was lukewarm when we got there and required to be switched on manually every 10 minutes which was so annoying, and even then the spa did not heat up much further. It is outside so the breeze just made us freeze. Sauna also had to be switched on manually 30 mins before entering. So we were in the spa shivering while waiting for the sauna to heat up. Once it was up and running though, the sauna was fine.
Overall it was a fine experience. If you're not looking to enjoy a dip in the water but want to sit out on a nice balcony with great views while sipping your drink then this is awesome.

Good points: terrific view, very modern
Bad points: the most uncomfortable/hard bed I have ever slept on- like sleeping on a flat rock. Housekeeping not too good. Trying to open the kitchen cabinets with those very tiny knobs was a challenge.
Note: some front desk staff more competent than others.

Based mainly on reviews of TA, we booked a 1 bedroom apartment at Oaks on Felix for a 3 night stay in mid-May. When the taxi pulled up out the front of the building I was worried that I had chosen badly as it looked rather ordinary, but as soon as we walked into the apartment we knew it was an excellent decision. We found the apartment streamlined and comfortable. The bed was great, the living area wonderful for relaxing, and the balcony was delightful for enjoying river views while imbibing in a chilled pinot gris.
I've noticed that the last poster commented on the noise, and it was certainly true that there was a lot of noise that drifted up - I think from the Belgian Beer Cafe - until quite late at night, but it was happy noise and so didn't bother us much at all.
The location of the Oaks is fantastic with it being just a short walk to the Queen St Mall, bottle shops, a supermarket, the river, and - best of all - Eagle Pier. Oh, and a definite for anybody staying in the area is a dinner cruise on the Kookaburra II. The service was wonderful, the food absolutely delicious, and the live music just added a touch of magic while cruising slowly up and down the river. We can also highly recommend Picasso's in the next street for a fabulous pizza. But, please, can somebody tell me why pizzas in Queensland are SO expensive?
If we went back to Brisbane again we would definitely stay at the Oaks on Felix and are happy to recommend it to anybody.

Great location. Brilliant views of river. Really helpful staff who moved us to a room with better views.
But very noisy - impossible to keep windows open & enjoy some fresh air cos of general street noise.
And the lighting! Woeful! All lights were fluro like - white light, harsh, which create no ambience. Probably low cost, low emission bulbs but they are horrible!
Wouldn't stay here again cos of noise & terrible lighting.
