I checked in later in the evening and the staff were a breath of fresh air. Michael at the front desk had me laughing and feeling a little less stressed within minutes. I had to meet with some co-workers so they arranged to have my bags brought to my room for me, without my having to ask.
My room was clean and beds were comfortable, the windows in my room opened, which is a big plus for me! Fresh air!!
The breakfast buffet was good, service was friendly, because I was having buffet I didn't see my waitress too much, but she was friendly all the same.
Dinner at Vic's Steakhouse was outstanding!! The wait staff was very friendly and the food was fantastic!! Recommend to all who stay at this hotel to eat at Vics!!

Booked a jacuzzi room over the phone, at check-in nobody had my reservation. Front-desk chalked it up to "in-experienced" employees. Ended with a tiny old, dark, dirty, smelly room for a hefty price. I don't care how great the location is....would never ever waste another dollar at this place.

The room seemed quite old and the elevator was extremely slow. I expected much more for my $375/night stay. We stayed in their Fireplace and Jacuzzi Room. Check-in was a little slow but the staff was courteous. I was unable to find an ice machine on the floor so I called the front desk, the person that answered did not know how to answer this basic question, I was put on hold and someone else came on stating there is no machine on the 8th floor, I would have to go to the 7th or 9th floors to get ice. So I did. Then we wanted to enjoy a nice movie but the Menu to get into the pay-per-view selections did not work. I called the front desk again to ask for assistance. The maintenance guy came fairly quickly and remarked that others in the hotel have complained about it as well. "It must need a reset" he said. About 30 minutes later the TV flickered a couple of times but the Menu for movies still did not work. We heard nothing further from the staff to follow up on the problem. They just gave up and left it as is. Upon check out, I complained about the lack of ice machines on 8 and that the movies didn't work. I just a got a shrug from the staff, no apology or anything. I filled in a survey that was emailed and gave the hotel a very low mark. I received an email from the manager stating that my experience was not the normal way the hotel did things and hoped I would return. He did apologize but at this point an offer of a coupon or something might have redeemed them. Not the worst hotel I ever stayed at but I certainly will never recommend them or return ever again!

We have stayed very regularly at the Mayfield over the past ten years, but based on our last two visits have decided not to return. The prices have risen steadily and are now ridiculously high for the service you get. The rooms are crowded, dark, and badly in need of upgrading. On our last visit we could not check into our room until 4:30 PM, because of staff shortages, not great when you have travelled all day and want to shower and relax. The housekeeping has deteriorated badly, there was a dirty room service tray by the elevator the entire 2 days we stayed there, and hair on our bathroom floor. In their favor, we have never encountered a rude or unfriendly staff member.
