First visit to Malta and i must say i will not go back, hotel on arrival (after going down dirt track) was very pleasent staff in reception very friendly and polite.
Brochure not very accurate in saying if your idea of heaven and pin-drop peace and quiet as this hotel is open to the public who only pay very small price and they have acsess to pool, beach and dining area lunch time(and believe me it is not very quiet)
If you have children be prepared to spend money as the food is appaling and you will end up going across to the Riviera hotel for pizza.
beaware if you go over to blue lagoon for day trip try not to go on saturdays as this is a very busy day and they crame as many people on a very small beach as they possibly can, must say any other day and it is very very nice.
I booked this hotel as i realy did need a very quiet holiday and i did not get it,and if you are going all inclusive when you go to the bar for a drink make sure you have money in your hand or they just might forget you.

Just returned from this hotel. (never again)
This holiday was booked as a special occassion for my wife's birthday. What a let down!
I had booked this for ourselves and friends. Requested adjacent rooms on upper floor ended up my wife and I in disabled room on ground floor our friends on the 2nd floor. good start!!
Our room was dirty and overlooked the childrens play area and where the animations time played the games. No peace no privacy.
All inclusive a joke, sign for everything eat at certain times in certain places locals and paying guests served first all the time, very annoying after a while.
Food not very good, staff looked as though they were on community service never smileing always grumpy. Not very helpful.
The good points: pools and gardens nicely kept, beach and swimming great.
The bad points: isolated location when buses and taxis on strike as happened while we were there.
Entertainment not very good, (best singer was a welsh lad staying there for a wedding, could have done with him singing everynight!)
Would not go back to this hotel.

I'm on my last all inclusive day here at the Ramla Bay Resort and have a fantastic time. The facilities are great with a very friendly and helpful staff, especially "Lino" (Leeno) in the sunset bar and Carlston a general waiter on the resort. There was always a happy face and good service from all who "served" us. The room was great, aircon could have been a bit more effective but it did enough to bring the room down to manageable temperature. Did try to visit the Blue Lagoon but didn't get off the ferry as the place was heaving with sunbathers etc, couldn't see any of the quayside due to deck chairs, recommend an early morning visit to that just to get a place.
Snorkelling has been fantastic with a wide variety of colourful fish very close to shore.
I will be coming back here to try to take in more of the touristy side of things, due to the bus and taxi drivers strike this was not possible on this visit.
I do recommend as well if you stay here that the all inclusive option is taken, lots of fluids required this time of year(July).

We booked our holiday after searching for the ideal place to accomodate our teenagers and babys needs whilst on holiday, unfortunately there were some problems which tainted our experience. We arrived in the early hours of the morning and were bombarded with questions and forms at reception. The following morning I asked if we could have a kettle for our room to prepare the babys feeds, we were told yes; but there is a charge - also no tea/coffee sachets provided, these must be bought from the shop! Despite the charge we waited 10 hours for the kettle to arrive and that was only after several requests. Beach towels- a charge, safe - a charge, do you see a pattern emerging?
The high chairs were so dirty that our daughters clothes had to be changed from just sitting in them on several occasions. Staff were generally quite unfriendly, bar staff in particular behaved as if they were doing you a huge favour by just serving you. Day guests and paying guests (we were all inclusive) received priority treatment at all times.
The resort itself is picturesque and modern, a perfect setting which is sadly not matched by the service

The venue for my friends 'dream wedding'

We flew to Malta to attend our best friend’s wedding.
Ramla bay is not the place to stay unless you are happy in the confides of the hotel as there is little much else to do in the surrounding area.
It is unfortunate to say that the hotel staff were not very accommodating to the bride and groom and certain other members of our group (there were 24 of us in hotel, enough money in their pockets you would of thought for them to make a little extra effort not to mention the fact it we were there for a wedding)
For starters when the holiday was booked, the wedding couple were told by assurance from the travel agents not to book an upgraded room as they would be guaranteed to get an upgrade on arrival. Not the case as the receptionist informed us that they were fully booked. Maybe it is not for the travel agents to speak on behalf of the hotel but it would have been nice for them to make an extra effort as it was their wedding. Instead they were left with two single beds and no got for their baby. When this was pointed out to reception she simply said, it should have been requested (it was).
Me and my partner personally had problems getting into our room. The key to our room had to be changed 6 times in total and every time we went to reception to complain, it was made out to us as if we were the ones who could not operate it!
As a secret wedding gift to the bridal couple, me and my partner asked reception if we could pay for their upgrade. They said we could at a cost of 35 Euros per night. We went to inspect the room and it was in worse condition that their current room. We asked them if they had any other rooms they could upgrade to and they said that all other rooms were on hold in case any of the new guests arriving wanted to upgrade. This to me clearly shows that they were not fully booked as previously stated and they were happy to take other people’s money but not ours.
To add insult to injury on out second week, the maid came into the bridal couples’ room and told them they needed to pack their stuff as new guests would be checking into their room that day. Upon informing reception they admitted they had made a mistake and checked them into the wrong room. Instead of amending their records and changing the room of the new people that were due to check in, they made the wedding couple pack their things and change rooms.
Also please do not be fooled by the ‘all-inclusive’ tag that the hotel carries as it is no fully all-inclusive. Certain foods you have to pay for, bottled water we were charged for. The all-inclusive bar finishes at 11 and you have a cash bar until it closes until 12. They will only stock your mini bar once (regardless of whether you are staying for one week or two).
The hotel entertainment leaves alot to be desired, during the day the animation team will harass you to play games which consist of throwing a sponge ball into a cut out water bottle and the kids club only opened on the second week due to their failure of passing the health and safety inspection.
The hotel advertises itself as a ‘child-friendly- hotel but in the instance of rain there is nothing for the children to do. Children are only permitted in the spa pool at certain times of the day, which could be understandable as it may be perceived as an adult area but even with just our party in the spa they were still rudely told to leave.
I was not overly impressed with the hotel a few staff did compensate, being chatty and friendly and if you were just going to Ramla bay for a holiday rather than a special occasion then maybe it would have been suitable but I feel they made no effort to improve my friend’s wedding to its full potential. Disappointing.
