As folks have stated, room & bathroom very small. Used desk to place suitcases, otherwise no other place than the bed as little to no walk space around bed(s).
Carpeting stained, minimum cleaning of furniture.
Maid leaves door/window open.
No air conditioning. Portable fan in room didn't work. Not a place to stay in summer.
Original room - 302 twin, wallpaper torn and not repaired due to suitcase/maid equipment. Door barely cleared the bed.
Bathrooms had mold. Original room was much worse than 2nd room. Leaves one to question.
Repairs apparent in bathrooms with caulking, but no pride in workmanship.
Toilet broke w/in 1st 1/2 hour in 1st room. Gentleman at reception blamed me, if just flushing causes a geyser, I can only repeat that there is no pride in workmanship/ownership. Later when encountered gentleman on the street, he stated that everything was ok and not my fault.
Changed rooms prior to this and received a double/single bed. No offer of reimbursement and told no other room of equal value available.
As found whomever on duty not at the reception desk several times and room key - an acutal key! - is required to return each time you leave the building, I decided to retain the key for security reasons.
1st day, room was cleaned by maid. Next day the assistant manager stated that they would not clean my room if I didn't leave the key (this is a brief summation of the exchange). I had indicated that they did have another key to the room as the maid had cleaned my room the day before and they couldn't guarantee the security of the room and "It's fine" to the not cleaning the room.
Upon return late that night we found the room not cleaned and I went downstairst to get towels. At first the man at the desk said they didn't have towels and when I said that it couldn't be as they had been in the stairwell the last 2 days, he got them for me and proceeded to ask me about the situation and tell me that it wasn't right that my room wasn't cleaned as the maid has a key.
He said he would talk with the hotel manager and my room would be cleaned the next day. When we left the next day the assistant manager S. Roditha (spelling?) didn't say anything, however the room wasn't made up again.
I went down to the desk later to see if I had a bill. Was told no. I said hmm, as I had used the phone. Again, no bill. He then asked me about the situation. He also indicated that this shouldn't have been the case as to the room cleaning. Learned later that he was the hotel manager. No offer for reimbursement for room or not cleaning the room.
The gentleman I had spoken to who said he was going to talk with the manager asked if I had talked to him. I asked if that was who was on duty earlier, yes he said. He then proceeded to ask me to write a letter that he would give to the manager, which I did, but not sure what good that would do as had a live conversation with him.
When we checked out the next day we were charged $2.30 for phone usage. I made a comment that the hotel owed me, but didn't say much more as just wanted to close out this chapter.
Breakfast - best to have a wider variety elsewhere for the price.

Superb location relative to Metro and Rue de Moufftard but room and bathroom tiny!
In selecting a Paris hotel we looked for a Latin Quarter hotel with good location to the Metro. And this was ! About 100 metres from Metro steps to hotel steps. And at a Metro station where distance from platform to exit is short – in some metro stations, particularly junction points, you have to walk about 3 kms to exit – or so it seems.
Price of ?110 for double room excl breakfast lowish but not very close to popular Paris sights so we thought we would get a decent room slightly off the beaten track but with good quick Metro access to the sights. Area turned out to be very pleasant. Good restaurants, coffee shops, creperies in immediate proximity, and rue de Moufftard where we ate every night is about 300m away.
Our bedroom was as tiny as it could be and still be called a bedroom and bathroom was even worse. Bedroom contained a bed, 2 tiny sidetables, a single cupboard and a desk. Desk did not look strong enough for our suitcase but floorspace insufficient to put down suitcase, and still walk around bed to open door. When room is so tiny, rather lose the desk. Bathroom even worse. I could turn around in the shower. I reckon total size of bedroom and bathroom was about 10 to 11m2. Next time I will check reviews for room size. I reckon 15m2 is small but workable for this type of room – 11m2 is crazy.
Breakfast was offered but description was very plain. We did much better at surrounding coffee shops and creperies.
Overall we were very disappointed!

I visited this hotel with my teenager on a summer trip to France. We were on a tight budget, but wanted a little of the Latin Quarter feel. I found the hotel to be satisfactory. The rooms and bathroom were extremely small, but functional. We were there to see the sights, not the inside of the hotel room. It was clean and reasonably well run. It is located in a delightful, safe neighborhood, surrounded by restaurants and cafes, and quite close to a market with plenty of fresh fruit and patisseries. We ate our breakfast out every day, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The hotel is located very close to a Metro station, which was very handy. I would recommend this restaurant to others on a tight budget--it's not luxurious, but is quite adequate.

I read load of reviews for many hotels in Paris here and on other sites and it really helped me choose hotel.
First it seems that hotel rooms in Paris are very small (speaking of 1 to 3 star hotels - up to 120 ? per night), so I expected a small room and it really is, however we had a small balcony which was cute, room had a very small closet and very small toilet/shower. Shower cabin was extremely small and door is so small that a larger person would have much trouble getting in, however as written in reviews we expected that and did not bother us that much.
Other thing is cleaniness, it wasn t dirty, we have seen maid come every day, but it wasn t clean either, shower had limescale as it hasn t been cleaned ever, towels clean but didn t smell nice. Carpet was stained, white chair had a stain or two, and bed cover also had some old stains. Towels were changed, toilet paper added. All in all negative sides were bearable, more good sides.
It was a honeymoon on budget, so the room and quarter were quite cute, we didnt take breakfest as advised by many, which is smart, breakfest in hotel is 10 eur per person, per day, for two person in cafe you get petit dejeuner for 15, in pastry shop two croissants are 2 eur, 2 coffes around 8 - 10 eur. Starbucks around corner, subway, mcdonalds near and many bistrosand patisseries....with extremly delicious offer
Location perfect, metro no 7 around corner, many cafes where you can eat and drink excelently, great market at rue mouffetard where you have two grocery shops, specialty shops, food shops, restaurants...everything.
Hotel has double windows against noise what is very effective on weekend as only then there is nosise and music, ofcourse if it isnt too hot.
another plus english speaking helpful staff.
All in all, would apsolutely recommend - really perfect, safe location. Not a boring location, lively neigborhood - important because you need entertainment and places to rest and rooms really small.

not good

On arriving at the hotel, we were initially impressed, until we got into the room.....there was barely enough room to walk around the bed, there was a severe lack of storage space, and the 'desk' (which had no drawers) was halfway across the window and radiator which gave the room a dingey feel. the bathroom was horrifically small, there was no space to store your toiletries in the bathroom...or the bedroom, the toilet pan was blocking the entrance to the shower which made it very difficult to get in and out. the toilet flush button kept falling off.
however the location was very nice with metro stations a stone throw away, also lots of bars and shops etc.the breakfast was satisfactory although not much choice.
