The staff at the front desk was particularly friendly and helpful, particularly the young gentleman on the evening shift. Unfortunately, in the room next to us, some party goers decided to whoop it up until 1:00 A.M., only to resume at 3:50 A.M. The noise was so terrible that we had to call the front desk who said that they would send security. Whether they did or not, we do not know; the loud talking and laughter continued for over another hour. With barely any sleep, we had to get ready to hit the road in the morning to continue on our very long trip to Ontario, Canada. Unfortunately, in the melee, I forgot my nightgown. It was left hanging on the hook at the back of the bathroom door. My friend phoned, and I phoned today, hoping that it could be located and sent to me. I do hope that it can be found and returned to me.

Stayed at the Beachwalk the first time I ever went to Hilton Head. I drove down there had no reservations and knew very little about the island. Upon arrival I stopped at a visitors center where I asked for a hotel that was affordable. They directed me to the hotel rght behind them where I got a room for $85 a night. Upon arrival the staff was AMAZINGLY friendly. The room was a standard room but thats all I was looking for. Overlooked the lagoon to which i was HIGHLY dissapointed I couldn't find an alligator in and I looked every day. Breakfast was more then your typical continental breakfast and you are right in the heart of Coligny Plaza. Little bit of a walk to the beach but for the price you can not go wrong. I went back one time after and stayed at the Holiday inn Oceanfront just to be on the ocean but the hotel wasnt nearly as nice as the Beachwalk.

Room had unpleasant musty odor. Friends room had same odor plus, the smell of dog and cigarette smoke. Other than that the rooms were very clean. Convenient location for a one night stay. Ther breakfast was very good.

From the first phone call to make our reservation, the Beachwalk Hotel had great hospitality and service. The room was very clean and was perfect for what we were looking for. Within walking distance to the beach and many great restaurants. The front desk was very accomodating and made some great recommendations for while we were there. Thank you for the great stay!

Pros: -great value compared to other area hotels -great location; walking distance of public access to beach and near local shopping center -pet friendly; has a pet fee, but no limitations on size of pet -well maintained continental breakfast area -new carpet, drapes, bedspread, paint -clean -friendly staff -good soundproofing; we were concerned that because we had a corner room in a high traffic area that we would be disturbed by noise, but we weren't. Cons: -room felt a little damp because the a/c unit cooled too quickly, leaving humidity in the air -mechanical features felt worn out; e.g. the electronic door lock was finicky and sometimes would not open without several tries; sink and shower faucets were out of alignment -room wasn't especially large -condominium sales reps were in the lobby in the afternoons; some are very pushy
