Many hotels in Paris share some things in common, such as modest room size. However, this hotel had some perks which went above and beyond the normal Paris hotel. The bathroom was newly renovated, a nice plus. The real treasure, however, was the staff. The day manager was helpful in recommending restaurants with local color and well prepared cuisine at a fair price and in making sure we took advantage of all of the sites within the time frame of our stay. The superior service also extended to one of the staff who returned a very expensive camera, a Christmas present to my father. He had been so excited over the variety of offerings in the wine cellar breakfast room that he left his camera on the chair when he returned to the hotel suite. Not five seconds later, the staff member in attendance in the breakfast room knocked on the door with the item. It made what could have been a terrible experience into a lovely memory. Honest, hardworking, pleasant staff is a bonus that this hotel offers, a welcome element when choosing a hotel in which to stay.

Recently renovated and converted from Hotel Violette to the Louvre Rivoli. Fantastic location on a quiet street near the river, the Louvre, Tuileries, not far off from the Marais. The rooms done up in modern style, which did not match the Web site photos, which showed more traditional, frilly styling. My feeling is that they currently look pretty nice, but may not wear well. It seems like the renovation was rushed, some bits in the bathroom not quite finished. The shower is a problem--indeed, only half a door, and the shower floor is flat, so keeping the water from dispersing around the bathroom is a challenge. You can manage it okay if you use the handheld, but not if you want to use the overhead showerhead.
Oh yes, a warning--do not share a room here with someone you do not feel comfortably intimate with. The bathroom is a semi-frosted-glass enclosure (two walls are this way). You can see some fleshy outlines and hear everything from the main room area.
The place was quiet, both the street and hotel interior. The hallway outside our room had mucked-up walls--paint-job interruptus, or something. Both days we wanted to iron clothes, it was a bit of a comic struggle to get the one-and-only hotel iron. Yes--there is only one, complete with taped-up and splitting cord. It circulates around the hotel as requested, and the front-desk person one day took an hour or so to locate it and have it brought to us. The next day she sent it up on its own in the elevator and I went to fetch it, to the amusement of fellow visitors waiting for the lift.
There was sometimes a sewagey smell after one took a shower. Bed was fine, pretty good, pillows not so great, but okay. Small room but looks nice for the moment. The desk people were generally rather nice. So a mixed bag. Fairly comfortable and attractive, but definitely not up to par for the 150-euro price tag, except maybe for the location.

We've stayed in this hotel for 5 nights with my wife and son.
Before we go they sent us an e-mail noticing that there will be a work on the basement floor but there will be no work or disturbing sound on the other floors.
First of all, hotel staff was very friendly, helpful. They spoke English well so we ask them all the things we need to know on our journey in Paris (They gave helpful advices).
Rooms are excellent. We stayed in a three person room (Semi separated). The room was very big, decorated in modern style very well, had a nice bathroom. I can say that it is the best room that we stay in Europe.
The hotel is located at the center of Paris, you can walk to Louvre museum in less then 5 minutes, and there are metro stations near so you can travel everywhere. And seine river is just at the back of hotel (You just need to cross a street and the boulevard around the river.)
We really enjoyed our stay with my family. The hotel will be a perfect choice for staying in Paris.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in July, with my husband.
Style: The hall was under renovation when I stayed in this hotel so I cannot say anything about it, however he hotel is placed in an old building .
Location: Very good: just a few steps from Rue de Rivoli, but on a side street, so the area is surprisingly quite. Five minutes walking to Notre Dame and the River Seine, 10 minutes walking to the Louvre and, on the opposite side to Hotel del Ville. Very easy to reach from the airport by train B, train stop Chatelet is just outside the hotel.
Rooms: My room was new and the hotel was under renovation, so pictures on the web site are not reliable. The new style of the rooms is very beautiful to see: techno and design, but not so beautiful to live in: uncomfortable a too minimal. My room was very small. There is air conditioning, which is very important during summer. The furniture was completely inadequate to the room: there is a dark wood imposing wardrobe, too big for the room and a bit oppressing, it has no handles to open its doors, so you risk to crush yours fingers everytime you open or close its doors; the tv was “hidden” inside the wardrobe and discover it was a little trick. Very narrow space to store your luggage and clothes, my bedside was so near to the wall that I could hardly walk. But the worst thing was the bathroom: first of all it has a glass door, so no privacy. Although the bathroom was big, the shower had no basin, so every time you had shower the bathroom transformed in a swimming pool. In all room there are no mirrors but the one in the bathroom, it’s a damage it was hanged at 1.50m high, so no chance to watch yourself in, unless you’re almost 1,.80. the room floor was covered by a thick moquette: spotless as brand new, don’t know what will happen in a month or two after some passages. Everything in that room was to be uncomfortable!
Just another odd thing in this hotel was the lift: very dark, illuminated by a blue light: enough to make you stumble if not paying attention to the step exiting the lift.
Food: don’t know. He breakfast was 12 euros p.p. I had breakfast for half price in the plenty of “patisseries” nearby.
Staff: Mostly indifferent. Just one morning, found a girl very helpful. Don’t know about English speaking, because I can speak fluent French
The good: location.
The bad: new furniture of the rooms
The worst: the shower
Price: € 165 a double room, without breakfast
Tips: OK for short staying .

We stayed at the Louvre Rivoli from June 8th through 16th, 2007.
The location is absolutely perfect for walkers and access to the main Metro station (Chatolet) which is a 3 minute walk. The hotel is also a couple of minutes walk to the Rue de Rivoli and about a 10 minute walk to the Louvre Museum.
We booked a smoking room but none were available when we got there. We worked around that problem. The room on the 6th floor was small but that is typical. The A/C worked and the elevator, although dark (lit by 2 led lights) worked fine.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We did have the breakfast on the Sunday at 12 Euros. Was ok and you could boil your own eggs there. (some hotels don't offer eggs at all). However, 2 doors away is a great patisserie (closed Sundays & Mondays) where you might want to consider for breakfasts.
As mentioned, for walking, the location of the hotel was terrific. Close to the Metro, a few minutes walk to the Seine, etc. The cost was 165 E per night.
The 4th & 6th floor rooms were newly renovated and our only issue was the 'shower'. Visualize this: a hose attached to the tub with about 6 or 7 spigots on the end. In other words, you basically had to sit in the tub, hose yourself with the wand, soap yourself and hose yourself off. Certainly an inconvenience for true shower takers. Oh well, roll with the punches, I guess.
All in all, a quite decent choice for a 3-star in the 1st E.
