We had fantastic days in Santa Monica at the "Hotel California".
We booked not in advance, we drove around by car and the Hotel California was eyecatching from the street.
We decided to check in this old but stylish and easy going hotel and it was the best decision ever.
It is situated just steps away from the beautiful santa monica beach and pier, the third street promenade and other attractions.
The interior reminds at old movies and beachlife bec.of the surfboards on the wall. We had an apartment and it was really nice. It has a seperate bedroom, kitchen and even the fan was enough. ( we didn`t need any air condition )
The only thing I would complain about was the roll-out bed for the 3rd person (it was a little uncomfortable for me ) and the parking area should be a bit bigger bec.it`s hard to find a place.)
The staff at the hotel was so friendly all the time and we really
enjoyed staying there. ( It was nice to meet you Brian :-) )
So once again thank you for these awesome days at the Hotel
Califonia. I will come back for sure!!!!

We booked this hotel for part of our honeymoon in CA last month.
When we first arrived we were slightly disappointed/surprised with the location being on a busy main road but as soon as we saw the view from the room and flower-lined path leading to the beautiful beach, realised it was infact a fabulous location. Paying $18 a night for parking was slightly frustrating but this is often the case in Californian cities.
We were given Room 33 with a litte balcony and view of the beach & sea and it was pretty good for the price. The room was clean, facilities good and bed the comfiest in CA! The bathrooms could do with updating (cracked tiles and dripping taps) but everything worked fine. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - they happily booked tours, recommended restaurants and printed directions for us. I would say that the vibe was more that of a high-end backpackers/motel (no facilities of a hotel) but free internet access and a (very) basic breakfast were appreciated.
Hotel California wasn't luxury in anyway, but I would definately recommend it for anyone wanting a chilled out, good value, centrally located hotel in Santa Monica. We realy enjoyed our stay!

LA was my home but this time we were only here for one night, just needed a place to sleep for a few hours before attending a funeral the next day, after getting off a 14 hour flight, was nice to get upgraded to the club floor (after I made a small fuss about not sharing a king size bed with my brother, especially since I requested two beds 2 weeks before hand & re requested/confirmed during the online check in process 2 days before arriving in LA)
the hotel is older but comfortable, located on a quiet street in LA downtown, we left in a rush in the morning so didn't have a chance to eat there but I'd would go back the next time when I don't have a place to crash in in LA
(although if this was a for pleasure trip I'd probably try some of the other boutique hotels in LA)

A mole in this lovely time
Guest name: raman272, new delhi
Travellers beware! First they give you a wrong room then charge extra for rectifying their own mistake.in the end they confiscate part of your hard earned money from the security deposit without any rhyme or reason.really a mole in this wonderful city which has so much to see,so much to do.one of the loveliest sea side towns.

Stayed six nights at the Omni as we got a great deal on Skoosh.com. It worked out at less than ?75 a night.
The room was typical of a large hotel, clean and functional. Service was good and efficiant.
Definitely worth signing up to the Select Guest program - it is free. We got free wireless which otherwise is $10 for 24hrs, free beverages and newspapers in the mornings.
We didn't eat in either of the restaurants nor really explore the area. We had a car and were travelling out of downtown to see other areas of LA.
If you get a great deal then the hotel is worth it, otherwise as a tourist I would stay else where.
