The rooms we had are decorated very dull dark depressing colours, its a bit of a crush between the beds and the units, the lighting is quite bad, and if you leave your curtains open everyone walking by can see directly in at you and everything you have, we had to ring to get the room made up.
The hotel is far from where it all is happening, and if you decide to drive anywhere you loose your spot and parking is so limited you have to park on the street and pay per hour parking.
the walk to the closest place to eat is about 15 minutes, in teh heat its like hours away!!
there is a place to eat if you go to the sister hotel, southernmost on the beach, but god what a horrible beach, its dirty and covered in seaweed, they said its because of a storm, but it wasnt nice teh whole time we were there, we saw a postcard of an amazing beach and asked where it was so we coudl go swim, he said it was the one we were on we just laughed.
there is apool by a tiki bar, but it is loud noisy and not our thing, so we found a quiet pool opposite our rooms and it was lovely, nice and quiet.
Beds are comfortable adn TV is a good size, microwave and fridge and small safe box. bathroom is lovely.
i guess i downgraded the teh experience mroe because of the decor and distance from things and places to eat.
icecream on the corner is very good.

We stayed here in 2004 and were so pleased with the hotel that we came back. The room decor is high quality and the bathrooms have been remodeled with granite counters and neat shower hardware.
The pool is very popular along with their tiki bar. The crowd is almost all adults, friendly but not on the wild side. The hotel had put out about 7 pool floats for the guests to use-which was a nice touch. We had an 8 year old with us. He did not seem to disturb the guests and we were comfortable having him there-even if he was the only kid in the pool area.
The beauty of Southernmost is that you get access to the Southernmost on the Beach/Dewey House private beach area and beach cafe. It is across a fairly low-traffic street. The beach cafe is pretty good. We had both breakfast and lunch there several times. The staff was very friendly with good service.
Note that Southernmost is building new hotels on the beach side. The construction was not loud enough to be heard at our hotel, however the guests at Southernmost at the Beach were NOT happy. Banging started at 8am, they were redoing the roof of the hotel-which resulted in the pool being closed with construction walls on one side. We looked at booking there, and I don't remember the construction being noted. If you want to stay on the beach properties-I highly recommend that you make sure they have finished construction before you book.

We recently got married in Key West & planned our wedding thru the hotel. Ourselves, along with all our family & friends stayed at The Southernmost. Everyone was very pleased with their rooms and really enjoyed themselves. Great pool & tiki bar. Staff is very nice and attentive. Love that it's at the quieter end of the island, but walkable to everything. Our guests all had different rooms ranging from Pool View Kings to the most basic...Economy Queen. The ecomony queen was actually really cute. Small, however, bathroom was remodeled. We had the Pool View King with a balcony. Room was big, but our bath was small & had only been partially updated. Balcony was small, not really worth the extra price. The Deluxe rooms were cheaper than pool view & I actually like the best. Bathrooms were nice in the Deluxe. The Traditional rooms had not been updated yet, but were still clean & comfortable. Would definately stay here again.
