This is a great hotel. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated, and you're within ten minutes walk of the lake. The staff are very friendly - would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

we stayed here only 2 nights, and arrived by car, it was very difficult to reach the hotel, because there are roadworks in the city centre.
The room was good, although extremely small, but since we were here only for a short stay it did not really matter.
The entrance and reception area are very nice and classy, which also reflects in the decoration of the room
The minibar is indeed free of charge; water-cola-orange juice, which is a nice gesture of the hotel that we appreciated. I do not understand that some guests are complaining of this: you cannot expect the hotel to offer a large selection of drinks for free!!
20 minutes walk from the Lake, there is abus stop not to far from the hotel. We did not take the breakfast, which is expensive at 30CHF per person, and the car park (in front of the entrance, not secured) was also expensive.

Very nice hotel. Bathroom completely modern. Hotel and room very clean. Quiet street. From hotel and walk down to lake, but is uphill on return. Or can walk uphill from hotel to city center.

Myself and my partner stayed here for a week in March and we chose it because my son and his wife live further up Ave de Cour. We arrived at 11AM as our flight from Dublin was an early one, our room wasnt ready but we were told we could leave our luggage which was fine as we were with our son and on our way to have breakfast with them. On our return we collected our keys and found our luggage was still at reception which I found strange, surely it should have been sent to our room. the lift is tiny and I'm glad we only had one suitcase! The room we were allocated was tiny but spotlessly clean, enough storage for our needs and the bathroom lovely and also spotless. The room and bathroom were kept very well for the whole week, towels and face towels changed daily and bedlinen every second day, the stairs and hall also very clean and never and smudges on the many mirrors around the hotel and bar. There ws no 7UP, Ginger Ale, Srpite,or Lemonade to use as mixers in the bar so we only used it once (I like a couple of brandies before I retire when I'm on holiday and like ginger ale). Was disappointed with the breakfast also not worth the CH25 (16EUROS) When we retired at night I'd have liked to watch maybe an hour of telly but there was only 4 english speaking stations and they were mainly news oriented!
i was also disappointed the restaurant wasnt open and that wasnt made clear when we booked , but there are plenty of eateries in Lausanne so that wasnt a problem.
The weather for our week 11 to 18TH was glorious, we had to take our coats off and t-shirts were fine to wear as it was sunny every day, though it is changing now and they are expecting snow and rain! If it had been very bad weather I would not have been happy at this hotel and definitely would have had to upgrade to a larger room where ther were better seating facilities to enable me to read in comfort. A DVD player would be an advantage in such circumstances. We were out every day and had our daughter in law to show us around and their apartment to chill out in as well so we had a great time.
My legs are still aching from climbing all the hills around the city, there are so many apartments but they are so tasteful compared to my capital city (Dublin). People clean up after their dogs, and they bring them everywhere with them. Everyone we met was so polite even the young people, and even when not buying anything in the shops we were always bid a cheerful 'Au Revoir' when leaving! So different to what we are used to here in Ireland.
My son uses the bus to the train station every morning and he has it worked out to the last minute because they run on time! The trains are lovely and roomy and they even have double-decker ones and always on time--unbelievable! I could go on and on about the coffee shops and patissieries-so clean and the choice of goodies...... so sorry for the long ramble but I hope this may be helpful. do try the Movenpick ice-cream, you can buy it at the train station in the little Supermarket inside!
