central location - plain and simple

It is a late check in and check out, but the staff are very friendly and will willingly keep your luggage securely stored if you arrive too early.
The reception staff were courteous (the young woman was very friendly and helpful.)
The rooms felt a little bleak, as did the whole hotel - but that is really due to the modern style of decor, and the rooms were well maintained, as are the public areas.
The bedrooms are of an adequate size for a short stay, and the bathrooms are well fitted with good showers.
At ?12 plus tax for breakfast, you may be better eating breakfast elsewhere, but you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in the secluded courtyard away from the hustle and bustle of the shoppers just yards away.
It is not in a great location for the best restaurants (they are to be found in the Santa Catalina area) but it is fine for accessing the Plaza Major, and is not too far to walk from the Plaza Espanya and train station. At ?20 for a cab ride to the airport, you may be better hailing one from the Plaza Espanya due to the city's one way system
An adequate little hotel for a city break
Would not return - best avoided - scary car park.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in April 2008. When booking we were allocated the only room remaining, and as we particularly wanted to stay there, we accepted it. This proved to be a big mistake, as the room overlooked the entrance to the basement car park and service area. This meant that apart from the occasional traffic into the car park, the area was also used by the hotel staff to move large rubbish and other containers to and fro and most deliveries to the hotel arrived there as well.
This would not have bothered us greatly, except that the hotel's air conditioning was not functioning - a fact which the hotel staff were only prepared to acknowledge after several days of fobbing us off with vague information and unfulfilled promises of action - and thus we had the choice of sleeping with an open window, with the associated racket through the otherwise still hours of the night , or suffocating in a sweltering hot room.
The decor is or was cutting edge chic, but was now a bit faded. The shower tray was mouldy and there was no plug in the basis (nor, according to the hotel, in any of the other rooms either). Believe that if you like.
Guest services and information were disappointingly scarce - not even a folder or information pack in the room.
They even forgot to clean and prepare our room one day and grudgingly made up the beds when we complained.
The staff were superficially friendly, but seemed incapable of delivering the sort of guest services we were paying for.
AND THEN THE CAR PARK!
This is an underground car park, on two levels. It is approached down a spiral ramp with about 2-3 inches of space between the car and the concrete walls. we had hired a Seat Altea - same size as a VW Golf, so not a big car. We successfully negotiated the ramp all week, but on the final day I misjudged the width and graunched the rear wing. Luckily I had bought collision waiver insurance, so I did not have to cough up an excess. BUT BEWARE!
On the slightly brighter side, breakfasts were okay - quite good in fact, but they were the same, day in day out.
We did not dine in the hotel, preferring to get away from the it to see the real Palma.
For something special we would recommend:the Aramis Restaurant in Calle Montenegro 1 La Lonja, Palma de Mallorca [--]
Other good restaurants:
C'an Carlos (16) at Carrer de l'Aigua 5 [--]
Richard and Gill Morbey

Just returned from the hotel where 8 of us spent 3 very happy nights. Hotel is a 15 min cab ride from the airport and much easier to find than the reviews lead you to believe. On arriving we quickly checked in and sat back in their fabulous and serene courtyard for a light lunch and a "few" bottles of cava which was very well priced. The staff "make" the hotel, they were all really friendly, helpful, patient and went out of their way to tell us where to go and how to get there. The rooms we were allocated were a mix of overlooking the courtyard (probably the best bet), they were pretty spacious, really clean and well appointed and the bathrooms were perfect (fabulous showers). My mum got a room behind the reception (102) which we wouldnt recommend if you are looking for a light filled room, it was dark and looked out on to some scrub where a family of skinny cats lived. As an animal lover this upset her everytime she opened the curtains and saw them looking up at her. Others in our party had huge rooms but in the basement so not that light either but again really well designed and clean. We checked out the Puro City hotel reception and much preferred where we were staying. I will certainly return for a weekend and stay here again without doubt. The shops are on the doorstep and the cathedral and waterfront are an easy 10 minutes stroll away.

I have mixed reviews about this hotel. Our room did not offer all the amenities which were advertised, nor did it have views of Palma, just a brick wall. I spoke to Carmen the receptionist about it and she was just wonderful. As no Manager was available to discuss the issues with she upgraded us to a 2 bedroom suite with a huge terrace which was very kind of her. The best thing about this hotel is all of the staff were so pleasant and it was very central to the shops, it is also nice and quite.

Staff are great and the rooms are kept clean. Breakfast is OK usual choice of hams cheeses fruit pastries cereals etc. Courtyard is pretty where you can enjoy a wonderful set priced lunch, although there didn't appear to be many diners in the evening.
On the minus side we decided on a Junior Suite for our first four days, room 211 it was`a mistake noisy plumbing from adjoining rooms, street kids for 2 hours each afternoon and a view of a wall with pigeon droppings to greet you when opening the lounge windows. The room itself was bland with a narrow lounge lacking in character , poor decor a tiny bathroom with no toileteries or full length mirror provided.Only a small bathroom mirror to view yourself in when getting ready to go out anywhere. TV channels very limited for news and a mini bar that was always empty.
Returned for one night in a standard double overlooking the courtyard and it was great more peaceful, nicer views, much quiter and much cheaper how I wish we had known this before our unpleasant stay a few days earlier.
