Excellent way to visit Scotland, particularly if you like to walk. Rooms are great and we had no complaints about any of the support services (reception, housekeeping). There are two small grocery stores within walking distance so you can cut your dining bill substantially by preparing some of your own meals.
The apartments are right on the edge of some urban renewal, but we never felt the slightest bit of danger. There are numerous dining and bar establishments within a three minute walk.
Overall great experience and highly recommended.

This is my first and who knows may be my only Trip Advisor review but I wanted to comment about our pleasure with the Fountain Court Apartments EQ-2. It is as good as all the good reviews say. Modern accessories, cavernous space, great view of Edinburgh castle in the evening. Two adults, a 22 year old and a 19 year old we all loved it.
Great idea, great place, great location

Just back from a girly weekend in Edinburgh. I went with six girls who I have known since my school days. We had a brilliant weekend. The apartment was gorgeous. So much room and all mod cons including a stocked fridge.

We stayed for 2 nights in May of this year, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The apartments are in an area of Edinburgh that is undergoing redvelopment (near the McEwans brewery site). As a result, there is a lot construction happening in nearby streets. However, this isn't that visible from the apartments and you certainly won't get disturbed with noise.
The apartments themselves are spacious, modern and well maintained. There are some nice touches, like a breakfast basket each day, and secure wi-fi access in every apartment.
The only downside was that we had to pay parking (secure and underground) on top of the already high room rate.
