I have just returned from a night in Dublin. Went up to a concert with my son and sister. Wanted a hotel on the west side of the city as I needed access to the M50 early the following morning. The Red Cow was very easy to book on the hotel website. I work in the industry and I would recommend their booking system. Very user friendly. The hotel rate was fantastic. 99 euro for 2 but my son decided last minute to accompany us and I phoned to change the booking to a triple. done in two seconds for 135 euro which included full Irish Breakfast. The room, while small enough, was spotless. The beds were lovely and compy especially after standing at a concert for a couple of hours. The shower was like a power shower and the bathroom was very clean with lots of fresh towels. Breakfast was a feast. We had dinner in the restaurant when we arrived and it was lovely and not a rip off. The restaurant staff were very attentive. Teresa the receptionist who checked us in was very efficient. I could not praise this hotel enough. Proximity to the Luas is a plus. In rip off Ireland it's nice - once in the blue moon - to get value for money. Well done Red Cow...I'll be back!!

We only went for one night, but found the stay excellent =). Room was fantastic and actually slept up to 5! The food at breakfast was also of a very high standard, and the evening meal in the Winter Garden restuarant was superb!

I stayed one night at the Red Cow Moran Hotel due to the fact that my friend was having her wedding reception there.
Upon arriving, I was underwhelmed with the location. It was basically at the intersection of two roads/highways and in a very commercial area in a sea of parking lots. However, this is not really their fault I guess.
At reception we were greeted warmly and promptly shown to our room. My key card did not work well and the friendly worker assisting me with my luggage showed me how to jiggle the door handle to get the keycard to work. I struggled with this multiple times and eventually asked for a new room key. They told me no, just jiggle the doorknob. Whatever.
On a positive note, the wedding reception they put on was BEAUTIFUL. The food was excellent, the music system was all set up properly, the waiters were very attentive and the barstaff (most importantly!) was quick and professional. There is a lovely little bar off the lobby where we had drinks before being led into the big reception room. We all had a great time.
BUT . . if you have children, I would advise not using the hotel's babysitters. Both I and my sister-in-law used sitters and mine was OK, but seemed uninterested in my child and was checking her text messages while I talked to her. For me it was ok, because my child was going right to bed anyway.
For my sister-in-law, with two 'older' children (4 & 6), she went back to the room an hour after the kids were supposed to be sleeping and the kids were running wild and the sitter was just staring at the TV.
Later, while we were back in the recption hall, the 6 year old wandered into the room by himself!!! He had told the sitter he wanted to go see his mom, and she let him leave the room!!! Outrageous.
But if you don't use the sitters, and are not looking for a scenic location, I would recommend this hotel. Clean rooms, attractive decor, nice lobby bar, good food.

My husband and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago for a quiet break, we were meant to stay for the weekend but checked out after one night. We had dinner in the hotel which I have to say was excellent, but having travelled all day we retired to our room about 11 o Clock. All night there were people banging on our door trying to get in, my husband rang reception at 3.30 to complain and ask the night porter to request the people next door to quieten down. The people next door were fighting and breaking glasses all through the night, and there was nothing done about this problem. Instead of just two people in the room there was approx 13 people coming and going all night. We were afraid to leave the room as the people next door seemed very volitile. At 6.30 even more people went into the room beside us. the walls are very thin and you could hear them talking/shouting, These people just walked in off the road they were not booked into the hotel and still the porter let them in and he would not do anything to get them to stay quiet. Several people complained that night and everyone said that they would not stay there again. We checked out at 7.30 as we couldn't take anymore. Reception did apologise but there should have been something done to resolve this problem at the time.
