During our recent trip to Italy, we used Rome as a stop-over between tours. During our first and second stops in Rome, we stayed at the Atlantico and were very satisfied. We were a party of three, so we had a nice-sized triple room. It was room with two double beds and they included a single "roll-away" type bed. The desk agent was waiting for us when we arrived each time. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the location was excellent, being close to Termini, which is where the two Rome metro lines intersect. The staff was very helpful and friendly, making dinner reservations for us, etc. They also allowed us to keep a few pieces of luggage at the hotel between stops so we would not have to pack everything with us the whole time. While Atlantico is not what I would consider a "destination" type hotel, we had not planned on and did not spend a lot of time there. We were in Rome and tried to take as much of it in as possible. Atlantico and her staff were there when we needed them and we had a delightful stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Their website is also helpful and includes some suggested Itineraries. On the whole, we were very satisfied with our stay.

Pros:
(1) nice and close to Termini so (having arrived at Termini by bus) it was great not to have to go any further.
(2) Good breakfast area.
(3) Decent size room
Cons:
(1) the room initially allocated was dusty but worse than that, it really smelled of cigarettes - especially the bathroom. I informed the reception staff straight away and pointed out that I had booked a NON-smoking room - to which their reply was that *all* their rooms were smoking rooms, none were non-smoking at all!
(2) There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
(3) The central aircon was turned off and the management were not willing to turn it on because (in their view) it wasn't the right time of year (but it could have helped to get rid of the cigarette smell...).
Summary:
The staff responded to the smoky room issue I raised and offered what they felt were alternatives (and did get us moved to a less smoky room for subsequent nights), but I felt they didn't really care as I don't recall them actually apologising. I won't stay there again.

This is an excellent hotel close to the train station with a super knowledgable staff and the best breakfast of any hotel we stayed in on this trip.
The rooms were standard European size with hard beds but that seems to be the norm.
A little noisy at night but that's Rome!

We booked this hotel based on the reviews on this website. The location was great , less than a block from the Termini which is the main train/bus/metro terminal. It may it very easy for us to get to and back from Rome's attractions and if we walked to them, we were able to take the bus back to the hotel as many of the buses end at the termini.
We were pleased with the overall look of the hotel, nice reception area, nice breakfast room, small elevator but it works well.
Our room was large enough for a queen size bed, a small seating area in front of the TV, a desk, a built in closet and chest of drawers. Ceilings were high which was nice. There is a small refrigerator/mini bar in the room where you can keep your own food and water. The room, specially the carpet, looks a little worn but it was clean.
The bathroom was all marble and kept clean, tub is high, may not be adequate for people that have difficulty climbing over a barrier.
The breakfast had scrambled and boiled eggs, bacon, assortment of breads, yogurt, fruit, cereal, coffee...enough to have a good breakfast that tied you over till a late lunch.
The staff was very nice and helpful, they all spoke English and some spoke Spanish.
The only things we wish we had was an alarm clock, softer towels, softer toilet paper, an iron and ironing board, better TV options and free internet, they had an internet connection but you had to pay for it.
Overall it was great and convenient hotel for our wonderful trip to Rome.
