I was excited to book my 25th wedding anniversary at Bayview Resort. I actually booked it a few months in advance and purposely requested the Sunset View Condo. since it was the only one that had queen sized beds available. I was sent an email confirmation stating that my room had been book. I arrive at Bayview Resort on July 22 excited. I walk into the room and it is a really nice condo; however, I immediately notice that my bedroom is made up of two double beds. I call down to the front desk to inquire as to why my reservation had been switched. The person who answered the phone seemed as though she had an attitude because I had a problem. She informed me that I had booked the ocean view condo with the double beds because they never change a reservation and as a matter of fact she stated that she was the one who booked my reservation when I made it. Well, this really really ticked me off because I'm looking at a confirmation email that says I booked a Sunset View Condo with one queen size bed. It is my 25th wedding anniversary, I don't even sleep on a full size bed at home. I realize that I'm dealing with a front desk person who doesn't have a clue as to what she is talking about, so instead of debate with her, I go down and request to see the front desk manager. She is friendly and explains to me that apparently the general manager changed my reservations to what they call an upgrade because they were full. This makes no sense to me because how would switching me from a queen size bed that accommodates two people to a room with two double beds that could hold up to four people be of help to the hotel. To me, going from a queen size bed to a full bed is not an upgrade, regardless to the view of the room. I was not particularly here to watch the water from my room. If that had been the case, I would have booked ocean view from the beginning. She explained that there was nothing that she could do because they were booked. She could switch us the next day. We leave to go move the car to the parking garage because I guess there is nothing that we can do other than be displeased customers. When we walk outside we discover that I guess some of the guests at the hotel (probably children) has sprayed orange and green sticky foam stuff all over our pearl colored cadillac. My husband is completely ticked off, but I'm sure there is nothing that can be done about that either. We just go to the parking garage and clean it off. I promise this vacation/anniversary has not started off to a good start. I will see what tomorrow holds, and I promise if it doesn't get better we will be on our way out. The resort is nice, but I can't understand why even the general manager would change a reservation without notifying the customers. It proves that businesses number one priority is what is prosperous for the business and customers get second choices. Not happy!!

This is the worst rip off ever from hotels.com. They said we had a ocean front room got side view. No pool outside no close place to eat with out driving. At check in they had only two carts the rest had flat tires two hours later we got to our room. Elevators the worst ever experienced, add 10 -20 minutes to go up and down. had to rent chairs for the beach $30.00. Get a real hotel and stay away from this place. My kids hated it. Small pool, no gift shop, no outside pool which they said they had. The price of the rooms was mis-represented by hotels.com $350.00 a night. sure it was!!
Stay Away From This Place,
Gary

My family and I stayed there for the 4th of July weekend. Here are the complaints. The elevators there are just awful. I would say the average wait time for one of the three elevators is in the 5-6 minute range. Many of the guest and even some of the employees were complaining about this. We asked for clean towels for 3 days and each time the cleaning crew did not get them to us. We had to go get them on our own, and with wait for the elevator it made it that much worse. We asked for a maid to come and clean our room because of all the sand and they never showed up either. We've been to many resorts in Myrtle Beach and this by far is the worst one. The service was bad. Also the pool area was a complete joke. They had an adult pool the size of a backyard pool. The hot tub was ok. The kiddie pool was ok. The lazy river was smaller than the adult pool. Worst of all they didn't have an outdoor pool!!!
Loved it!!!

All the things that are important to me while staying a week at the ocean were here at Bay View. Checking in was very quick and the registration clerk was very helpful and kind. We were lucky to be on the 2nd floor so no elevator were necessary except when checking in and checking out. When walking into the condo I was very happy with the tile entrance, the granite countertops and updated appliances and above all the view of the ocean from then entire balcony, breathtaking. Having a TV in each room was very important for my teenage children. Having wireless internet access is most important and had no problems there. I loved being close to everything Starbucks, beer and burger joints, Ripleys, the Pier all within walking distance. Also the short drive to Hard Rock Park, Boardwalk on Broadway and Wal-Mart.
The day after our arrival we noticed that there was no remote for the TV in the sitting room and the shower in the guest bath was screaming hot even when turned all the way to cold. I went to the front desk and told the reg. clerk within an hour we had a remote for the TV and by the end of the day the shower worked fine. The cleaning staff worked around my "Vacationing Teenagers".
My only suggestions would be, if you plan to cook, make sure you bring your own measuring cup. Although I am pretting good at eyeballing it, it would have been nice to have a measuring cup.
I would suggest for the hotel to keep a broom and dustpan along with a swifter in the rooms somewhere, laundry closet maybe. There were times when we had a lot of sand on our shoes and would have liked to sweep up immediately. Also for any spills on the tile it would have been easier to mop with a swifter than a paper towel.
Overall we had a great time and would return.
2nd Opinion... Bayview is Great!!!!!!

Bay view is great. The parking deck is a secured deck. You do have to cross two streets to get to the deck. The hotel is on one street and the deck is on the other. If you have been to Myrtle Beach, then you know that traffic on Ocean Blvd. is very slow. So, it is no problem crossing the streets.
The oceanview rooms do have two balconies. There is no such thing as an ocean front view room. It is either ocean front or ocean view. The one bedroom condo's with two balconies are ocean view. The ocean view is great and can be seen from any position on the ocean view balcony. The view was almost like getting ocean front. However, the lower you are the more likely your view is to be sacrificed. The street front balcony has plenty of room for four people (these rooms are designed for four people). The ocean view balcony sits two people but would easily accomodate four average sized adults (2 standing, 2 sitting). The furniture is your typical "family dollar" patio furniture but remember it is the beach and the furniture has to stand up to a lot of wear and tear. Plus, do you really expect the patio furniture to be from Smith and Haken's?
The beds are comfortable and the hotel and everything in it is less than two years old. So, the rooms are still like new and immaculate.
The pool does have chlorine in it and like all pools chlorine can be overwhelming at times, but do your really want to chance getting in a pool that does not have an adequate amount of chlorine in it. The lazy river is great and is perfect for adults!
The elevators are horrible. If you are a healthy adult taking the steps down isn't too bad.
I did not have a problem with the hallways. They were clean and seemed to be cool and well ventilated.
Also, when you book the website shows you a diagram of your room and shows the position of your room and balconies in relation to the ocean.
My husband and I went with three children and absolutely loved Bay View!!!!
