Stayed here for 2 nights as a base to visit the Loch Lomond Scottish Open. The hotel was easy to find and is situated in a lovely position. Booked it through the hotels website on a '2 night dinner bed and breakfast' deal which was very good value. I had asked for a marina view room and was given room 21 which was modern and very nice. I asked for that because I had read another advisor mentioning it. In fact if we had been given a room at the front there is really no view.
Breakfast is very good as was the evening meal taken in the huge conservatory over looking the grounds and the marina area. The staff are very good in both rooms. The menu on our 'deal' was not very extensive but what we chose from it was very nice. The hotel was very quiet and lacked a bit of atmosphere, the bar is ok but did not stay in it long. Flat screen television and coffee making facilities are provided, small double bed, comfortable but we were out like a light after walking around Loch Lomond golf course all day! Would probably stay here again.

This hotel was fantastic. It has a comfortable modern interior and is based directly on a loch at Rhu. The surrounding area is beautiful.
The staff were extremely friendly and the food at the restaurant was gorgeous. I cannot actually do this hotel enough justice in a simple review.
My advice - definitely stay here!!

The girlfriend and I didn't know what to expect. But...received a pleasant surprise. The room was excellent. The comfortable, modern furniture in the room was a nice welcome for those coming back...after a long day's worth of sight-seeing. The staff was always there to provide good advice on where to go, how to get there and provide excellent advice on the fastest way to get where you wanted to go. The food was good, a bit pricey, and the bar provided an stress free environment for the weary traveler. For the future, I would recommend more parking spaces. I would
also recommend expanding the breakfast menu. For any anyone visiting from the U.S...I would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for one night and pleasantly surprised. Got a good rate through hotelnet.com and was very pleased.
Lovely bar snacks in hotel bar, room nicely redecorated and fabulous view of boats in Marina! Bathroom clean and well stocked!
Overall a gorgeous spot, highly recommended!
Would definately come again!

After trawling the internet and checking trip advisor I finally decided to book the Rosslea Hotel. I tried to book it online however the website would not allow me to book the speacial rate of 99 per night dinner, bed and breakfast, So I called the hotel and the helpful receptionist booked it over the phone for me. We decided to stay for 2 nights. After a drive down from Aberdeen my partner and myself were looking forward to checking in and getting settled in and ready for dinner. Checked in, everything was fine there, Got to the room, which I must admit was nice, however the bed was two singles pushed together. We got ready and went down to dinner. As we had opted for the db&b rate the menu was very limited, only 3 choices of starter, main and pudding. As my partner is quite a fussy eater he was very limited to what he could eat. The food was nothing to shout about, pretty crap in fact. Drinks where not included and everytime we ordered a drink we had to sign a receipt, why this couldnt have just been done at the end of our meal who knows!!!The restaurant was very quiet only us and one other couple, It was so quite in fact no-one dared speak!!! After a silent meal we went up to bed, A very very uncomfortable one at that, Nothing worse than there being a split in the middle of the bed where the two matresses meet,. After a rubbish sleep we decided we would check out that day and not bother with a second night. We checked out that moring, No problems with us cancelling the second night which was good. This hotel was nice to look at but had to atmosphere and the restaurant and bar where both dead would recommend it to older people, but not somewhere for young to middle aged people as its very boring!!
