Do not stay here if you want to sleep!!!
Initial impression was great - minimial decor, soothing colors. Unfortunately this was one of the worst hotels I've stayed at on company travel. AC/Heat not working, sewage backing up in bathroom and spilling out on the floor via shower drain, room key had to be re-set two times in two days, and worst of all.... Room 228 is directly on top of the Gold Gym Aerobic room - Techno Pop blaring loudly and shaking the walls from 7am to 10 pm.

We were looking for a hotel convenient to the Picadilly line. We stayed overnight in London (going Istanbul to Los Angeles) and we wanted to go to a play in the West End (Spamalot). This hotel is within walking distance of the tube exit and only about a 10 minute trip back to Heathrow for our early morning flight home (we didn't want to stay in downtown London). It was easy to get to the hotel from the airpoprt, check in, get back on the tube to go downtown for the play and diner, return back to the hotel afterwards -- and then get up early in the morning and easily make it to Heathrow. The hotel accomodations themselves were an EXCELLENT value for the special rate of 55 pounds through laterooms.com. The room was very clean, comfortable bed, modern bathroom, and the room had free wireless for the computer. It was a much larger room than I had expected from reading some of the other reviews. Again, it was very convenent to Heathrow via the underground. The only negative for us was that there is no lift or escalator at this particular Picadilly line stop (Central Hounslow), so there are several flights of stairs to haul luggage up and down. This location and hotel worked out great for our particular needs. We will probably do the same on our next one-night layover in London.

We stayed at the Continental in Hounslow for three nights whilst on a business trip and loved everything from the room to the trendy bar and eatery. We also loved the art and managed to get the staff to point us to fourblankwalls website. We now have a little bit of the Continental back home.
Very stylish and modern hotel with some great services.

Could be better

I have stayed at this hotel 4/5 times during the last year - and it seems to be going downhill; despite being very expensive. On the stay before last the drawer handle was hanging off, leaving a sharp piece of metal protruding, and the shower seal was broken. My room was above
the gym which meant thumping music until 10pm.
On my recent stay the room was filthy; large clumps of hair and dust on the floor, which I had to kick out of the room before I dared take my shoes off. My bathroom also had no soap, shower gel or shampoo - despite these being provided on previous stays.
Since the heating is off a sign could be provided to let people know how to turn on the bathroom radiator - it's the unmarked switch in the
hall.
The stay should be better for the money charged; I will test an alternative on my next visit. I also feel that no notice is taken off
the remarks left constructively on the comment cards.
Breakfast is good - apart from the warm bread which is passed off as toast. The staff try to be helpful and are friendly but seem to be let
down by managment.
