We stayed here for 3 days in May 2008 which included a weekend.
The room was very large and we liked it, and we also liked the easy access to the Mall.
However, probably due to it being a weekend, there were groups of very noisy youngsters in the next room and along the corridor. They shouted and screamed until about 10pm when they went out, and did the same when they came back about 3am. They were running up and down the corridor banging on walls and shouting at each other. I would love to have seen the state of their room after they had left as it sounded as though they were wrecking it.
For that reason, although the room was good, we would not recommend the hotel unless you like extreme noise.

We stayed here for one night and were very excited as from the web site it looks really fab!
Our first impressions were good, check in went smoothly although we didn't get offered any help with our luggage, although we were only staying at this hotel for one night we had a lot of luggage as were were touring around and didn't want to leave luggage in the car over night.
I did think the gold reception was a little tacky, but liked the themed lifts and corridors to the bedrooms. Our 1st feeling however on seeing the room was disappointment, on the site it shows this wonderful cowboy themed room with half a carriage for a double bed etc, and on our booking form it states room with bunk beds for 4 etc, that was not what we got, we got a nice bed with 2 bunk beds in a jail, the jacuzzi was nice but took a long time to fill and had mirrors round it, not the wild west theme shown on the site.
Plus, I assumed that as all the rooms had jacuzzis in they would be well sound proofed, they are not, at around 10.30 that night the people above us came in and decided to have a jacuzzi, we could hear it. Not ideal.
The bed was comfortable though and it's location makes it a good place for the West Edmonton Mall however we would not stay here again, we would stay at another hotel in Edmonton which had bigger rooms and a Jacuzzi bath for a fraction of the price, and which the children liked better and we would drive to the Mall!

We booked 4 months in adavance, to assure the booking we wanted, 2 queens with bunk beds (we have 2 kids) and an adjoining room for the kids grandparents with 2 queens.
We called in 3 times to confirm, twice our reservations changed. and we had to correct them.
We arrive, and guess what? The reservations changed again, we did not get any of the previous configurations, but a new one, now what we wanted.
The real issue started at the front desk though ... the clerk on staff had NO clue how to resolve the issue of the incorrect reservation. She got her apparent on duty desk manager. She had no clue what to do, but to offer us breakfast. So offer us something we don't want, in exchange for something we want and were confirmed for ... nice.
I ask for her "Boss", but he is "not around" and "does not have a phone". I don't buy it. Then she dissappears, and of my gosh, during check in, the busiest time of the day, the "manager" was hiding in the back, pretending to me off site ..
He argues with us, we catch him in numerous lies, we ask for his boss, and that triggers him to walk away from us. Yes, physically turn his back and walk away. That leaves us without one room totally, and one room without the correct configuration.
He then turns around when I call him out, and he suggests he call around Edmonton on the Canada Day long weekend, and find us the same configuration (no one else has bunk beds and queens and adjioining rooms, so he's pretty much quit as this time and is attempting to frustrate us).
We finally "take what we can get".
I call him Manager, who also does not seem to be around (surprising theme here, that everyone;'s boss seems to hide).
I leave him a voicemail on day 1 of our 4 day stay, and don't get nothing back.
Our room was also filthy, not vacuumed the whole week.
There was also a hockey tournament in the mall that week. Many parents complained to us their reservations were also screwed up.
The elevators also seemed to fail on a daily basis during the 4 PM check in rush.
Bottom line is that that place is not maintained, filthy, and the "bosses" hide from responsiblity, but everyone was walking around with an "I CARE" button ...
Brutual service ...

Fantasyland HOTEL

My 2 Friends And our familyies stayed at the Fantaseyland Hotel near the middle of June 2008. Two of us in the executive Igloo rooms. My daughter opened her bed to find a moderate size of red dried blood on her pillow, indicating this was not a stain but infact not washed. Upon further inspection, all the beds including the sleigh bed was not changed and had been slept in. Did I forget to mention we had to wait until after 3pm to get in as our rooms were not ready at 12pm. All the beds had atleast one cigarette burn in the bedding, and one had pennies under the bed spread burn holes, not from house keeping I would guess. One of the champaigne glasses on the coffee table had garbage in it, and not to mention my room was missing the polarbear table, replaced with a cheap brass/glass table. The hot tub was not cleaned as you could tell by the paper and spilled but dryed beverage in the bottom. The floor lamp base was undescribably filthy, as was the floor. The pullout sofabed was non-existant but a nice piece of plywood replaced it making the couch as hard as a rock to sit on. For a $399 room plus tax, it just is not worth it. They changed all the bedding for us at 10pm, it only took a half hour. 20 minutes after housekeeping was done in my room, across the hall was one of my friends with her kids, housekeeping came knocking. My friend found torn-up paper at her feet when she climbed between the sheets of the un-changed linens, pealing back the sheets she found small black moving bugs. Not sure if these were bed bugs or not. The round igloo beds are hard to change as we both withnessed late that evening, but that does not excuse anyone from changing these linens. As for the sleigh and single bunk beds, which my children found themselves in, these are not hard to change, why were these not changed? The front desk was so kind as to leave the full bill shoved under my door as I slept, no discount for the 10pm linen change over. This was brought up to the attention at check out, I paid a small portin for my nightmare and was offered a coupon for a reduced rate on a future stay, I think NOT! I have stayed in this hotel since 1995, were I was engaged to my husband in the Victorian Coach room, a month later married in the Chapel on the 2nd floor, and stayed in the Roman room. At that time the rooms were clean with burn holes. Since have stayed 5 or 6 times in different rooms for fun, never have I seen the rooms so unclean. My other friend with her kids made out well in a jungle room of some sort. both my friends have never stayed there before. We would wish to NOT recommend this hotel.

We got the ,"Hot, hot price" available only Sun -Thurs for a limited time.($129 plus another $13 or so for taxes for a Superior room) This should be the basic price, for what you get, which is just two queen sized beds, and a fridge. I have stayed at Super 8's where you get internet, breakfast, and pool for less. The cots have very thin mattresses and are not worth the $12 extra.Beds were very comfy, and the location is great, but I would never stay there for full price.
