This was a completely different hotel experience. This is wonderul place that makes you feel very special from the moment you step in. Beautifully restored old building in quiet part of busy city. Staff is very helpful and would do anything for you! Our room was Shubart and it was beautiful room with a whirpool, four poster bed and a balcony overlooking their tranquil little patio/garden. And i never stayed in a hotel, where you can help yourself to the bar....This hotel is not a hotel. What they trying to create is to make you feel as 'a man of the manor', comfortable and relaxed. The best hotel experience!

This is a 5 star hotel. The owners have thought about everything at every turn and clearly they care. We stayed in the duplex suite - lounge upstairs leading onto an almost totally secluded medium sized terrace. A wonderful place to have your breakfast and for nude sunbathing !....there are Miro's in the corridors and a Monet in the kitchen !....nothing is too much trouble and its genuinely and oasis of calm and luxury....all the multilingual staff are superb and cheerful. A great location in the old town behind the cathedral and the better location in Palma we thought...the harbour area we thought was tacky. We only had breakfast in the hotel which was of the highest quality.....eggs, bacon, sauasuage, croissant, ham, cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurt +++.
Do not under any circumstances be tempted to eat at the Tapas Boveda or their neighbouring restaurant of the same name....appaling service they just want you in and out as quickly as possible...ditto the Meditteranee 1930 restaurant...meant to be one of the best fish restaurants near the port...1970's throwback...food was dreadful as was the service...they are only interested in the locals. One of the best tapas type bar was called GOTIC just around the corner from Boveda...unassuming menu but food of the highest quality and the service was customer facing and cheerful.
Trip out to Stoller was an absolute delight....the old train to the town then the tram to the small port and the beach area.
Tourists in Palma were predominantly German and Dutch.
Palma was ok, probably wouldn't rush back...outside of the hotel Gelesa the attitude needs to be a little more focused on their main source of income...ie tourists.

Fantastic experience

This small luxury hotel, matched its name by providing a perfect venue for a two day winters weekend for a private party of 16,
The service was outstanding from the moment we booked till the moment we departed. We all felt we had a very special experience.
A short hop from the airport, an introductory welcome tour by our host receptionist through the loveley public rooms that felt like a very special private home, brought us to our bedrooms - which were individually superb.
The service at breakfast, the banquet in the dining room, tea in the Monet room and sherry in the library beside a roaring fire could not have been better.
Whether you are solo, a couple or a group this hotel provides exceptional service,
The magic lay with the staff, the location and the superb interior decoration of an old town palace- supplemented by fabulous modern art.
