We stayed at The Paramount for two nights in June '08 and have a fantastic experience. First of all, the hotel is in a great location. We were able to walk to most everything we wanted to see. Our room on the 4th (top) floor was clean and nicely decorated. The hotel itself is old, but the decoration was modern. We had a triple room to accommodate our 9 year old son - we felt welcome as a family.
I did not experience a problem with noise. At one point I woke around midnight and could faintly hear the baseline of the bar music, but it was not enough to keep me awake. If you're sensitive to noise, try to get a room on the 4th floor.
Finally, the breakfast was excellent and the staff was helpful.

This hotel is perfectly situated for a weekend in Dublin - especially if pub activity is on the agenda (and how could it not be while in this city!). It is on the edge of Temple Bar which is a lively area full of restaurants and bars. The Paramount is also convenient to the city's sights - either by foot or the hop-on bus tours.
The rooms are standard European compact but clean and nicely decorated with a modern vibe. The front desk staff was very pleasant.
I was a little leery of the noise issue when arriving at the Paramount - upon checking in, I requested a room as quiet as possible. Due to the hotel's capacity, they only could give us a room on the 2nd floor facing the courtyard (the original room was on the first floor) - not much of a view but it was fairly quiet. You could hear the bass from the Turk's Head bar at night for a time but earplugs (and a few Guinnesses) were generally adequate for a good night's sleep.

Myself and 3 of my friends stayed here on the last leg of our European vacation. Definitely the best place we stayed the whole trip and the price was very reasonable. Very clean! The bar downstairs is a great place to get the night started (or to stay all night!)

We got lucky when 2 rooms became available about 10 days before our departure. Great room and only 59 euros/night. A little bit noisy one of the nights but a great location and wonderful management. This rate is about half price and was the financial highlight of our trip to Ireland where the US peso continues to dive for the bottom.

The Hotel is in the heart of everything and just outside the temple bar District. I walked by foot to almost every site in down town Dublin including the DART Station for some nice day trips to Bray. Staff very nice and helpful….allowed early check with no hassle or fee. Concern is the attached night club can be loud so request a room on the other side of the hotel BUT Don’t forget what part of town you are staying in…the nightlife and activity goes into the early morning hours.
