We booked this hotel through B.C. Tourist site. It was everything we expected and more. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the facilities were good, they even collected us from the ferry.
As we were celebrating a 'Special' wedding anniversary we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite which proved perfect. Yes- as written by other visitors the bathroom is a little small, but who spends a lot of time in a bathroom? This minor point is more than made up for in the size of kitchen and lounge/dining area.
The location of the hotel is perfect for walks, tours, ferry trip and the numerous restaurants. We were lucky to be there on Canada Day so were able to attend and enjoy the many attractions etc.
I would certainly recommend this hotel its clean the staff are great and we hope to return some day.

I came with my wife and Daughter and another family for a one night stay on a weekend. I found the best price in the hotel site itself and it was lower than comparable hotels in the city.
The staff was extremely friendly and we were lucky to get an upgrade on both rooms to mini suites. The hotel is not at all new, but everything is in perfect condition and very clean and has a nice atmosphere about it. In the suite you could actually cook in the kitchenette if you wanted. They also demonstrated exceptional service when we forgot a thermos in the room and they shipped it to us (expedited expensive shipping) with no cost. When we happened to forget stuff in other hotels it was never found...
Great stay, very close to the action in Victoria (1,2 blocks). We highly recommend it.

We took the ferry over from Port Angeles. With no car, this hotel was perfectly located. Everything within the Inner Harbor is within easy walking distance of the hotel.
We did not eat dinner at the hotel. It was very pricey and did not cater to children. Our 5 year old would not have enjoyed the meal. We did have breakfast there. Again, very pricey, $45 USD for 2 adults and one child.
The amenities of the hotel are great. The suites are well stocked. Although we were there for only one night, this hotel would make for a very comfortable week long stay.

The hotel is conveniently located about a block from the harbor, with very clean and comfortable rooms and a delightful staff. They offer a free shuttle that will pick you up or take you virtually anywhere you'd care to go in oldtown.
There is a small grocery store in the lobby of the hotel where you can stock up on food and drinks. There's a nice kitchen in the room and even a small dining room niche.
The on site restaurante was great and we had super breakfast there on departure day.
The only wierd thing about the hotel is that the decor reminded me of an old folks home. Everything was very nice, though.

My wife and I stayed at the Royal Scot for two nights in June. When we arrived (early) the front desk said our room would be ready in 45 min. as we had just arrived by float plane from vancouver( best expierence ever!) we checked our bags and had a GREAT lunch in the restaurant. The room was ready after we ate. The entire stay was so pleasurable due to the staff/ rooms and location of the property. We also enjoyed the free shuttle( Darrel was great-soccer fan too) and the gift shop, as we picked up snacks for our "walk abouts" -just a few blocks up the street we found John Bay's tea house.. fantastic English setting and food. It was like having breakfast in ones home. The BC Museum was nice- beware ..they will not let you enter with a back pack you have to remove film/batteries, water, snackes, wallets valuables etc. and check it at a coat check locker. Was told one could "kipe" something.Even though I did see empty strollers, messanger bags and purses the size that would rival Mary Poppins purse.Any way great time had by us. loved the tall ships and the Butchart Gardens (a true gem to the city) would come back in a heart beat. But would go to the museum with a purse next time.. haha. .Oh, high tea at Butchart gardens was Fantastic for the price..so much better then the price at the Empress hotel and just as good. cheers
