We stayed at the hotel as part of a Rocky Mountaineer train tour. We had one night between Vancouver and Jasper and another between Banff and Vancouver. The setting is beautiful, the rooms comfortable and service is incomparable. We needed to rent a car, rather than take the train for the final leg and the hotel staff moved mountains to get us a car, then took us to pick it up. I wish we could visit there more often.

When we checked in for a 3 day seminar, we clearly said that we had a prepaid reservation via expedia.ca. The lady at the front desk never said otherwise. And this created a problem that could have been prevented. They had actually never received our reservation.
When we made the reservation we booked at the Thompson Hotel and conference centre in Kamloops. Because of the name being so close and the place being in Kamloops, we honestly thought that we made the reservation at the same place as where the seminar took place. Lacking chance that day, we had also forgotten our reservation number. But since the lady said nothing, we thought that everything was ok.
When we checked out, we were then very surprised to be billed an extra night. We don’t deny that we have used the room, but if the hotel would have told us about not having a reservation for us, we would have had 2 nights and 3 days to find out why. Since we had prepaid the other place, we would have moved. It does not make any sense for us to stay at the inn. We did not agree on paying for it and after some discussion, we left thinking that it was all good. Well, the next day when I checked my CC statement, I saw a charge for the room. I called the hotel and they never agreed on reimbursing us.
I worked in luxury hotel in Europe and Canada and this hotel would have to take some lessons in customer service.
While I am at it, I might as well talk about the rest of our experience. We went to the restaurant of the hotel for a bite and were extremely surprised by the price of the main courses. The average was $35 for a main course. This surprised us quite a lot considering that Kamloops is a very small city in middle of nowhere. Because we were in a rush we chose appetizers only. In the lobster soup, there were more tomatoes than lobster. I had a duck spring roll that was greasy and very salty. In short that was not a great experience. Did I mention that my husband is a chef instructor and used to cook for famous people on the French Riviera (U2, Prince Albert of Monaco, Catherine Deneuve,..). This restaurant is really far from world class.
Finally, as I mentioned, we were part a seminar. The breakfast buffet was terrible. There was the obviously not-home-made quiches of the previous night, and we actually saw them again the next day... or the art of recycling food. There were some very dry croissants cut in 4, so that it looked like there was more. The lunch and diner buffets could also give lessons on how to recycle food from one meal to another.. Overall pretty cheap.
Something nice to say: I liked the lobby that has a British look to it. The view over the river is nice. The room was comfortable even if there was no coffee maker and the soap and other products were of cheap quality (cheap motel kind).
In summary, this is a hotel that thinks that it has an international class but does know anything about customer service and quality of food. By the way they charged us $149 and the hotel was pretty much empty.

Wonderfull hotel with beautifull surroundings. We stayed here for one night on our way from Jasper to Whistler. It really is a good place to relax. After one night we were sorry we had to leave. Although it is not near Kamloops (13 km) the surroundings make up for it. Highly recommended!!!

This is an excellent property to relax and escape from a hectic schedule. The Inn is located approximately 25 minutes drive from downtown Kamloops in an area surrounded by ranches and lightly populated residential areas, plus a golf course. It's not a large property, so you likely won't be bombarded by large convention groups, etc. Our room was well furnished and maintained. Highlights include extra large patio decks off the rooms, comfy bath robes and a 24 hour outdoor pool (seasonal) and hot tub.
