The hotel itself was nice and clean but unless you are staying for three months, don't bother making a reservation. We had a large family gathering planned in Edmonton so we booked three 3-bedroom suites for 18 people for two nights. By the day we arrived, we were down to one 2-bedroom family suite (sleeps 4)!
They changed our reservation on us on three separate occasions, the last time without even letting us know. First, they booked us on the wrong month, innocent mistake so we were down to three 2-bedroom suites and one of the families made other arrangements. A week before we went they called and had given away two of those rooms for the first night to customers that were long-term and therefore more important than us. We were quite annoyed at this point now but it was too late to book that many rooms at another hotel so we changed our plans to stay for only one night. The day arrives to check in and they had given away two of our rooms for the second night as well! So there we were on a busy weekend in Edmonton with 18 people and one small suite. We ended up scattered over the entire city and spending twice what we had planned to get rooms for all of us. And all they would give us was a $10 discount and said that their reservations weren't necessarily guaranteed if a long time customer wanted to extend their stay! So much for leaving a credit card to hold a room!

My family stayed at the Canterra Suites from November 23, 2007 until December 29, 2007 due to a water main break in our home. Canterra caters to longer term tenants with their suites. We had a two bedroom, one bathroom suite. One bedroom had two twin beds and the master bedroom had a queen. The suite was plenty big enough for our family of four (including the dog). The kitchen was large and there was a large island in the middle. The living room had a nice gas fireplace and a wall mounted 40-45 inch LCD TV. The staff are tremendous; very helpful in every way and friendly. They were always offering our puppy a treat to the point when he walked in the front door he headed straight for the front desk! The hotel is located right on Edmonton's main downtown road, Jasper Avenue, so it can get a little noisy if your room is right on Jasper Avenue as ours was. Since we were there such a long time, we got used to the noise. The location is excellent; close to all amenities. Save-on-Foods right next door for your grocery needs, plus restaurants, liquor store, ice cream shop, etc. in the same complex. I highly recommend this hotel for a long term stay like ours, or just a weekend getaway to Edmonton.

Bell'albergo, ma troppo rumoroso!!
Guest name: Anonymous

Loved it

From the moment we walked in the door, we felt at home and welcomed in this hotel. The lady at the front desk was professional and friendly. The rooms were clean, nicely decorated and roomy. The kitchen was wonderful. We enjoyed being within a 2 minute walk from a big grocery store where we would go every day to get our meals for the day. The underground, heated parking was also nice. I stayed there with my 8 year old son, and felt safe and very comfortable. We had no problems with noise from Jasper Ave. Our kitchen window opened to the shopping centre next door and that was nice. It was nice to be able to open the windows and let fresh air in. This is a true find, close to downtown, but with the full ktichen facilities, it is great for familes and longer stays.
