A fine budget hotel in Paris

This is a budget hotel in Paris, and it has many of the features you expect from such a place: very small room, worn and mismatched linens, stained carpet. However, it has very friendly, helpful staff; cheerful attractive lobby/breakfast room, a good breakfast; and a quiet location very near a Metro Station (Oberkamp). I recommend it.

Still a good value for the price :-)

It was my second stay at the H?tel de M?ricourt and like last year, the staff was extremely friendly and the room very decent for the price you pay. They sure could do a better job cleaning the bathroom (some mildew in some places) but overall it is very good for Paris and well situated.
The breakfast was great: croissant, pain au chocolat and baguette.

Can't understand the problems that some of the other reviewers were reporting! - My wife and I stayed there just a week ago (mid-february, 2008), and found L'Hotel de Mericourt to be clean, relatively inexpensive (very inexpensive for Paris), in a nice neighborhood and near the metro, with friendly and very helpful staff! What more could you want? Yes, the room was on the small side (only by American standards, though- we've stayed in even smaller rooms in other European cities) - of course, we didn't stay in the room much! - we were usually out enjoying Paris! When it was time to return at the end of the night, it was quiet, warm and comfortable. It was well cleaned each day! Not only would we recommend L'Hotel de Mericourt to our friends, but we plan on returning there on our next trip to Paris.

We stayed for 5 days in early december. we went for a twin room Breakfast was continental type included in price.
its approx 10 mins to the marais fast walking or 20-25 mins shop browsing at the same time.
its set away one street from from the main road and the rooms were compact - but ideal as a place to sleep after a long day around the louvre. unlike singapore were i love to spend time channel hopping the hundreds of tv channels -paris for me is culture not tv in the room.
we were given a code word by some friends ref: COCO and the price quoted was £50 gbp (approx 80 euro or $110 per night) for 2 persons including breakfast -im told that this price was only for off peak (not holidays and trade fairs) im not sure how long this offer was on for.
the room was clean - we chose a en suite bath instead of shower.
all round we were pleasantly happy and will rebook when we come back next year.
