I stayed at the Temple Gate for two nights as part of a Globus Tour. This was by far the WORST hotel of the trip. Upon entering the rooms, you immediately notice the old worn out comforters. The carpeting had a 3" area around the entire base board that was caked up with dust, lint, etc. AS if the room hadn't been vacuumed in months. WHen I went to bed, the sheets had hair on them. Although I believe they were washed, maybe they don't have a very good laundry facility. It was really quite gross!!!!
I was on the first floor and didn't have any problems with noise outside my window, but I know others did. The Irish breakfast was okay. The pub was nice.

Stayed here on and off for business trips over the last number of years and have been always very impressed.
Excellent food in both the Bar and JM's Bistro and very nice standard rooms for business travellers like myself.
But one major thing as of late is that a lot of the old staff who were there for so long have left. (I presume this is due to the renevations and not enough work available during their tenure) The new staff, especially the Bar staff are exceptionally rude. Some of the girls working there just ignore you at the bar counter for some time while talking among themselves until you actually have to call one over. She was then exceptionally rude as if to literally act like I had interrupted her!! The table I sat at was dirty with food plates and when the girl came and took my order she never bothered to clean it. I actually had to ask another one of them to come and clean it!!
The old Bar Manager I was told has left and that he was really the makings of that bar, a real asset, I am so sorry to hear he has left as the bar really has gone to the dogs without him.
Reception girls could also be a little friendlier, a smile here and there goes a long way.
Jm's Bistro staff faultless, very friendly but perhaps lacking slightly in English.
All in all though the food and rooms are excellent, but the attitude in the Bar and Reception seriously needs to improve!!

disappointed very dear 160 euros a night for 2 adults not worth it if you want to book go to website like hotelclub.com Had a few drinks and snacks on tab when i got the bill there were extras on bill from that morning when i queried the receptionist got animated and showed us the receipts, in the middle of the receipts was a different room number changed to our room and quite obviously a different signature again receptionist got agitated and instead of apologising got someone senior ,when she arrived she said someone had paid and she thought she had deleted the bill very off hand.It was strange that the wrong bill was not at top of pile of bills as it was dated on our hotel bill that morning but buried in middle looked like they couldnt identify owner of bill and attached it to ours in the hope we wouldnt notice not happy. Everything about the hotel was mediocre

Excellent Hotel and attention to detail!

Stayed in the hotel this week for 4 nights on Business and found the hotel facilities excellent. Stayed in an Executive room. Warm welcome and attentive staff throughout, great atmosphere in the bar and the food quality and choices were extremely high. As I stay in hotels frequently becuase of my work, the most noticeable details which make a huge difference are as follows - a good steam iron in the room with a proper sturdy ironing board, nice toiletries ( Gilchrist & Soames), order room service breakfast and it turns up exactly on time ( this is a huge plus in my book!) complimentary bottled water in the room, complimentary wifi access ( big plus!) and it worked too and with good speed. The food quality for breakfast was also very high too, bacon and sausages obviously well sourced and local. I would recommend the hotel, apart from getting the basics right, they seem to get the details right too which is a rarity at times! Well worth a visit!
