We stayed for one week at Lee's Inn and were quiet pleased. After reading the reviews we were expecting a "serviceable dump" but what we found were clean accomodations and a very friendly staff. The breakfast was hot and plentiful every morning and there were many options to choose from. We never ran into any employees that were not polite and helpful and one even offered to walk our dog while we were gone during the day!
This is not a five star hotel and there were issues with things being worn and torn but overall it was not an issue. With all things considered, the whole experience with our stay was very positive.

I stayed here with my boyfriend to relive my old college days this past weekend, unfortunately I didn't want to stay in a similar setting like a college student almost 8 years ago. Grant it, I got a great deal for this hotel but never did I imagine there will be such a difference between the lobby and the hotel room. The lobby was updated, clean, and the staff was friendly. When we headed up the stairs to our room, the hallway was stained and dirty, and our room which was supposely smoke-free but inundated with smell of smoke. They informed me it was a smoke-free room but with an ashtray in the room, maybe it was only smoke-free because we were in it that night. The bathroom was small, and the bed was decent but I would not stay here again knowing there are other options 2 minutes away. Thanks but no thanks Lee's.

Unfortunately, the old adage "you get what you pay for" came true. This hotel is very inexpensive and not even worth staying there at the cheap price! I booked two non-smoking rooms through Expedia and we were given smoking rooms. There was hair gunked on the shower wall for four days before the maid cleaned it off. On the third day, one of our rooms was never cleaned. On Day 4, the room was cleaned but no towels were left. The entire hotel reeked of cigarettes. One room had no thermostat to control the heat. There were basically two temperatures--freezing or boiling hot for the room.
My parents had stayed at this hotel about eight years ago, so in spite of my concerns that it might not be a good place (due to the low price) we booked it. The place has gone downhill!!
Do not stay here!

Despite its somewhat outdated exterior, when you first step into Muncie's Lee's Inn, a sudden surge of splendor and hope is overwhelming. From its tidy, clean lobby to a large crystal chandelier dangling above visitors' heads, this little hotel appears promising. Our experience with the front desk was equally as pleasant; the clerk was friendly and more than willing to help us in any way possible, and check-in was a breeze. And the hot breakfast served the following morning was simply delicious to boot (especially the scrambled eggs and sausage)!
Oh, if only our suite gave us the same sense of satisfaction...
Before we begin, we'd like to note that we stayed in the Presidential Suite. Yes, the suite itself had a lot of features - a jacuzzi, two TVs, a dining area, large bathroom, etc. We have no complaints over what Lee's had to offer as far as amenities. Our sole problem with the hotel was its cleanliness - or rather, lack thereof.
Aside from the build-up of gunk around the jets of the jacuzzi, the bed was absolutely horrendous! Stained sheets, dirty comforter, hair left on the pillow from previous guest(s). Quite frankly, it was rather disgusting... but luckily, we had brought some Lysol disinfectant to clean the premises and spare blankets and pillowcases we always bring along with us while traveling (items that always seem to come to good use).
Keep in mind, this was the PRESIDENTIAL SUITE... a room most would assume to be the cleanest in any hotel. We can't imagine the potential filth that may be present among Lee's normal rooms. Frightening.
Aside from the vast amount of stain, dirt, and residue found in our bed, our experience was very pleasurable - thus, the pros and cons seem to balance themselves out for a "neutral" rating. With a friendly staff, excellent breakfast, fair prices and large rooms, Lee's Inn of Muncie has a lot to offer.
... now, if only they would focus a bit more on cleaning their rooms.
