The place is so dirty and smelled like hell.. Don't like they clean the room or change bed sheets for new people checking in.. Some of the front desk people where good like one of the native eskimoo senior man.. other front desk girls were the most unfrindly and rude people I have met on earth..We couldn't sleep and was waiting fro the morning to come so that we could head ahead with our rest of the tour...It is over proced for the quality it has..

Ugh! worse "hotel" I've ever stayed in and I've travelled a LOT. Despite the friendly front office clerk, there is NOTHING I would recommend about this place. Unfortunately, a marathon of some sort tied up rooms in the other 4 or 5 hotels we immediately tried to move to, even the $300/night ones. I agree totally with every negative review -- "Great deal for the price" must have been staying at a different hotel. My list also includes stale room air, stained carpets, shabby curtains, sagging beds, dusty furniture - not even worth the $49 they charge at off-season. I also would have felt less stressed sleeping upright at the airport .

The Royal Suite Lodge.....Don't stay here ever. The rooms stink, they are dirty and the customer service is horrible. The beds are so old that they sink in the middle. The heat wouldn't turn off, it was 90 degrees the whole time, even with the windows open. Every amenity they promised to offer on their website and on their printed brochures is a complete lie. BEWARE!

The Royal Suite Lodge is one of the older hotels in Anchorage and has changed ownership many times. The building is showing a lack of maintenance, the furniture in the suit was old, there was no light in the refigrator and the bathroom was showing signs of abuse to the walls.

Gross & Nasty. Sleep in your car!!

Looking forward to a rest after a long 15 hr. journey to Alaska, but I should have found a corner at the airport to curl up in. My stomach flipped as soon as I entered the room. The smell was nasty and it was so gross. The sheets & pillows had 'stuff' on them. I never took my shoes off ,and slept sitting up on the sofa (which wasn't much better) using my jacket as a cover. Killed a few bugs, washed my hands ALOT, the toilet was falling through the floor, didn't attempt the shower. It mirrors the movie "Vacancy" & "Psycho"... so if your into horror...stay. If not, spend a few extra dollars and go someplace else.
