Staff at the Lord Elgin went above and beyond right from when I walked in the door. A cheerful smile accompanied by helpful tips on where in the city are some of the nicest attractions with the wonderful news that my room was ready for me even though I was early due to my flight. A great and welcome releif. The kindness and helpfulness of the staff goes throughout from front desk, porters and exceptional houskeeping staff. The hotel itself is well situated to many attractions, some just a short 5 minute walk. Lord Elgin definately made my holiday complete!! Thank You All!! Al Mathes

It was our first time visiting Ottawa and we were very pleased with the service from the staff at the Lord Elgin Hotel. The staff was professional, kind and respectful. The location is great because some of the main attractions are nearby. Christopher from the front desk provided me with a map and gave me useful information concerning the Changing of the Guard, the Sound and Light Show at Parliament Hill, etc. as well as other attractions that we could enjoy in our brief stay. If we visit Ottawa for holidays next time, we'll stay at the Lord Elgin again for sure. Thumbs up!!! :)

We stayed at this hotel for three nights based on Trip Advisor and we were more than pleased. The hotel is in a great location - walking distance to all the major sites. The staff was wonderful. We asked when we reserved for a room with a view and they gave us a quite large corner room with three large windows on the 5th floor with a view towards the War Memorial statue. This hotel is billed as a 3 star but it was far nicer that the Fairmont Frontenac in Quebec City which is billed as a 4 star. The breakfasts in the hotel was excellent. The only possible down side was the one dinner we had in their restaurant was disappointing. But we would return in a heartbeat
