The Eden Oranje hotel is centrally located in downtown Leeuwarden. Parking is available underground for a fee. To access the parking go west past the hotel entrance and turn right. Take the next right into the alley and you will see the parking garage door on your right. Buzz the hotel desk on the intercom and they will open the door. Only problem is that I could not locate an elevator from the garage to the reception area. The Eden Oranje hotel is going through a renovation of all their rooms. Current rooms are dated and the renovations will make this the premier hotel in Leeuwarden. Current rooms are nice size with two twin beds, no coffee or tea service in room, good size bathrooms with shower curtains and good quality towels. Some of the rooms on the first floor have balconies overlooking the Central train station. Non-smoking rooms are available. The restaurant in the hotel receives high acclaims but with so many great restaurants within walking distance, we decided to experience Spinosa, a great little restaurant with fine food and service. If you are looking at visiting the Leeuwarden area, I would definitely select the Eden Oranje hotel.

We stayed in the hotel for 8 days in january 2006, we had the junior suite. The staff is very friendly and speak english perfect. the rooms, ... are nice... by american standards, the junior suite was not much bigger then a room at the motel 6, the decor was outdated, again, about like a motel 6 ... but the location is very good, walking distance from the FEC and from the city center where there are lots of shops. Overall I will stay at the hotel again, by american standards its not much, but I would rather have this then something smaller.
