We booked a package via a luxury link website so the overall stay looked good value for money about USD 600 for 3 nights B&B. We got a taxi from Marbella Old Town where we had stayed in the Villa Marbella and had wonderful service (taxi was about EUR25). Check-in was poor with no automatic help with our luggage. On the plus side, the rooms are good, spacious, good bathrooms, lovely beds with great pillows & big balcony with concrete bench seats with loads of cushions to sit out on. On the negative side mini-bar is ridiculously expensive for a hotel of this standard & TV Films were not available.
We found the food in the hotel not to our taste at all the Los Arcos restaurant served up some of the dryest flavourless chicken I have ever been privileged to taste and the lamb dish was served with a sweeter version of runny jam masquerading as a sauce. Breakfast was far from five star, very limited selection of fresh fruit bulked out by tinned pears & peaches, processed cheese slices, industrial scrambled eggs, a toaster that didn't toast, the type of "french" bread & pastries you buy in a gas station/garage in the bakery section. Overall the breakfast buffet smacked of cost controlling & the chef in the restaurant was having a very bad day when we ate there. The best food came from room service which was hard to believe, excellent cheese plate from the cheeses that never made an appearance at breakfast.
Poolside looks very nice, loungers are fine but the pools are very cold by my pool standards, apparently 1 is heated (maybe the one beside the pool bar?) but there is no discernable warmth in the water. The new Spa is fantastic, great rooms & staff, highly recommend booking in advance. If you want to eat out we can recommend in San Pedro the Alabardero Playa Restaurant for great paella & arroz caldosa.

We booked a 3 night stay at the Westin for a short break away from the UK. First impressions were of an average looking hotel and it is well out of the way with no parking nearby so we were forced to park in the hotel car park at an extra cost of 10 euros per day. We asked in advance for a quiet room and were given a dark and dingy room on the ground floor with no view at all. Immediately there was a lot of noise coming from the room above as there was a small baby and family above us. I asked if they could find us another room but they claimed the hotel was full and that the only room available would be an upgrade at an extra cost of 45 euro a night. We agreed to pay it as we wanted some kind of view and a peaceful stay. Our room was quite spacious but there were holes in the bed linen and towels and the room was not the cleanest I've stayed in. Not what you would expect in a five star hotel. Mini bar prices were very pricy but that's what you have to expect now in most hotels. Pool area was alright but the water was freezing - again I would expect some form of heated pool in a five star hotel. We tried to access the spa but were told it was closed and they had no idea when it would re-open so that was disappointing. It soon became clear that the hotel was no where near full as we only saw a handful of people most of the time so it was annoying that the hotel management had claimed the hotel was full when clearly it wasn't. As the hotel was out of the way we ordered a taxi to take us into Puerto Banus. When we arrived at reception there was no sign of any taxi and they offered to take us in their own shuttle. We were charged 14 euros for this which was more than the taxi firms charged! We did the same again the following night and again there was no taxi waiting and we were given the option to travel in the shuttle. Just another way of making money. Overall we had a nice stay but there is no way this hotel could be considered a 5 star experience. If I went back to Marbella I would definately not stay here again as I think there would be better choices more central for the same money.

Went for a long weekend for boyfriend's birthday.
Excellent reception and concierge service. All staff very helpful and professional.
Restaurants in hotel excellent, the Japenese is a must sitting at the table where they cook in front of you. All expensive but I suppose to be expected at a 5* hotel.
Rooms great, large and airy with big balconies, perfect for breakfast! Huge beds - 7ftx7ft. TV/film service in rooms. Large luxury bathroom with double sink, extra large bath and separate shower.
Lovely grounds and pool. Great views.
All in all a superb weekend. Only fault would be the price of everything there. I wouldn't rate this as a 5* hotel, nearly but not quite, although excellent in every way.

Just come back form 3 nights in la quinta westin. Initial reaction was wow, with the decor and overall look of the place, breakfast is good, room big and airy, (ants were everywhere) lovely pool area with plenty of sunbeds etc. But the little things that make a 5 star worth the extra were missing. No automatic turn down of bed, t.v. viewing had to be paid for, no comp water in room. Staff were very vague when asked for anything etc. we brought our own bags to the room. Bad, smug service would sum up!
