What a fabulous hotel. We had to cut our holiday short to fly back to Amsterdam for work and my husbands company treated us to a weekend in Munich as compensation :)))) I booked this hotel the day before we left (last Thursday) and got a very reasonable rate of 300 Euros a night for a Duplex suite, which was really really comfortable and spotlessly clean. Nice Hermes toiletries too :)))) I cannot fault any aspect of this hotel. It is beautifully decorated and the staff are a credit to the hotel. Very very professional and our every request was dealt with quickly and efficiently. I didnt mind being situated near Central Station. As far as Central Stations go, it isnt anywhere near as seedy as other Central Stations I have been near in Europe. It was a fabulous base for us to have. We enjoyed our stay in Munich so much, I am looking at returning again to the same hotel. Just fabulous!!!!!

Beautiful hotel. Outside - Classic old building with contemporary comfortable interior. Location - beside main station and max 5 mins stroll to start of pedestrianised area. Staff - very friendly and helpful - no pretensions - top marks + well done (i dont say this often regarding hotel staff!!)! Room amazing - we had a deluxe so had a view over the rooftops. Very comfortable - the kind of room that makes you look forward to returning in the evening.

The Sofitel Munich has a fabulous location directly next to the Munich train station and a 10 minute walk to Old Town. Although the hotel is next to the train station, it is wonderfully quiet, in addition to being very comfortable and air conditioned. The staff is very helpful, and they speak wonderful English. The front desk assisted us with dinner reservations and reserved a car to take us to the airport early in the morning. We had a wonderful stay at the Sofitel and found the price to be very fair for a terrific hotel. We would happily return to the Sofitel or recommend it to a friend.

We treated ourselves to a Sofitel in Aachen last year and decided to do the same again this year in Munich as the Aachen Sofitel was very luxurious. The Munich Sofitel was very stylish and modern with a huge, softly lit reception area. Staff efficient and helpful, especially the concierge who helped us out with getting started in the city. The spa was the best bit about this hotel - the pool is amazing - the best pool I have ever been in - as another reviewer said - it's best to discover it for yourself! It has a big relaxation room, steam rooms, and fancy showers - great to chill out and escape the busy city. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel - these big expensive hotels always charge a fortune for breakfast - but the railway station is a stone's throw away and has a perfectly good coffee and pastry cafe.
