I stayed in this hotel in mid June while traveling for business. I picked it both for its location on the main square, and because I know that Sofitel hotels are usually of a high standard. In general, I was very pleased with the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, for example providing a power adapter when I had forgotten my own, and finding a cab in the morning that would accept Euros when the nearest bank machine was down. As usual for a Sofitel, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom spacious and well-stocked with amenities.
There were just a couple of things that surprised me in terms of the availability of on-site services. There is an on-site bistro, which I would have assumed would be open in the early morning, i.e. 7-8 AM or earlier, especially given the high number of business travelers staying in the hotel. The cafe opened only from 9 AM-7 PM, with the result that I was never able to visit it. The fitness center also had odd opening hours, i.e. was not open in the morning, but only for a few hours in the afternoon.

I use this hotel much for business and 9 times out of 10 you are sure of an excellent stay.
Decent sized clean rooms with good attention to detail and polite but rather serious staff. Brilliant breakfast selection and the hotels restuarant is well worth a look if you are staying a few nights.
The Sofitel benefits from a great central location - the main bustling city square is literally just 100 metres outside the hotels door and is a must to visit day or night - expect to be overwhelmed with choice for bars and restuarants.
But before you rush head-long into making your booking one major point to watch. The hotel is based around an eye-catching covered atrium which the hotel sometimes uses for large conferences & events. Unfortunately many of the rooms overlook this atrium so you could be affected by noise into the early hours on rare occasions.
I was unlucky enough to be residing once when a contingent of European travel agents were being subjected to some obsure past Polish pop act performing on a fully rigged sound stage. As the hotel was fully booked with travel agents a change of room was not possible and to be frank the desk staff seemed slightly embarrased by the situation.
I mention this as an item to check for, rather than to put you off staying, but if you can't secure a room away from the atrium then steer clear should there be a conference or event using the atrium - you have been warned!!!

A group of 12 of us stayed in this hotel in November 2007 for the weekend. Excellent hotel with friendly staff in an excellent location. Locals were friendly (mainly).
Would like to see Wroclaw in the Summer so it was busier though.

The Sofitel was located very centrally directly at the Market Place (Rynek).
The check-in was ok, though a 2nd person at the counter wanted to send us away being 15 minutes too early for check-in.
We did not eat in the hotel and also skipped breakfast as breakfast was quite expensive and restaurants and cafes (with much cheapter prices) quite close.
The room & bathroom were clean and nicely furnished.

Sofitel is OK, but nothing more. Especially that this is 5* hotel in 5* price. I know that in hotels like this you need to pay for nearly everything but 100PLN for car park was a robbery.
The best and the worst thing is location. Best because it is just a few steps from the Old Town's main square with numerous bars, pubs and clubs. Worst because it is located in shopping mall.
Room was nice , comfortable and clean with enough space. Bathroom- very basic.
Breakfast as in other hotels, nothing spectacullar. I would prefer little bit warmer.
All in all would not go back in a hurry. Will try to find nicer place in this wonderfull city.
