I went to sofitel for a week of training. My room looked over the danube river. the room is clean and pretty good designed. the pillow were the highlight of the room. They were so fluffy that it was a hard thing to wake up in the mornings. The hotel itself is very centrally located and modern. you have a wide variety of food selections daily. There is a bar and a casino inside the hotel. the only downside to this hotel is probably its gym. it was a small and under equipped gym. overall, I can definitely recommend this hotel to budapest visitors as it delivers what you pay for. there was nothing that bothered me during my stay in this hotel.

Spent three excellent nights in the Sofitel over the May bank holiday. The location is perfect, just next to the Chain Bridge and a short walk for the bars and restaurants. The hotel has a very good restaurant, with the novelty of being able to watch the chiefs cooked and prepare the food in an open kitchen! The bar is well stocked, with both Hungarian and imported wines, as well as local beers etc. Friendly staff were more then willing to either chat or leave us alone as required. All the staff were helpful, all seemed to speak a multiple of languages, and were willing to help as required. The rooms are large and had one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in a hotel, along with a large shower and bath. Flat screen TV, with all the normal channels expected in a top hotel, with on demand films etc. There were also a couple of chairs, with enough space in the room to chill out without resorting to having to lie on the bed. Budapest itself is a great city, and one I would return too. Likewise I would return to the Sofitel as well.

Make sure you get a river view room on one of the higher floors - 'deluxe'. Our deal again included a bottle of champagne and dinner in the hotel restaurant, which we highly recommend. The glkass lifts which go up and down inside the atrium are a nice feature of this well-designed hotel. Staff are very helpful, particularly the evening concierge who can recommend some lovely restaurants nearby. The beds are extremely comfortable and with that view to look at it's tempting to stay there! The location of this hotel is just perfect - we've now stayed there about five times. In the summer it's close to the river for boat trips, convenient for the trams and coffee and cake outside Gerbaud's coffee house and at Christmas it's near to the Christmas market and mulled wine inside Gerbaud.

Front Desk Staff: Very courteous and helpful. Bell Staff: Very Helpful Terrace Restaurant: Very, Very Nice Staff, they know how to great a sleepy guest with a warm smile. Coffee could be hotter. Nice Choice of Foods for morning Breakfast, always kept fresh. Paris-Budapest Caf?: Nice place in the evening for after dinner cordials and drinks. Staff behind bar could work “together” more. Seems like each person has a specific boundary and won’t go out of those limitations to do the extra for the guest. Room: Very nice clean room, housekeeping service was very good. One problem with a room key being removed by housekeeping, so we had key code changed. Night Doorman/Bell Staff: These gentleman are very good with all aspects of their ability to assist the guest in information on their way out.
