We were a little concerned that the construction noise would be too much. Not at all bad and our room looked directly at the 18th floor of Trump. There was more noise coming from the hotel across the street on the ocean side. There was an ocean view if I stood on my tip toes or hung over the lanai but the real view was the city at night. What a great place. if you're bothered by a little noise, maybe you should stay someplace other than Waikiki. Loud music, loud vacationers and FUN.
We didn't know what to expect upon arival. The desk staff seemed a little snooty. (He had to put down his newspaper to help us) Due to delays, we had been traveling for quite some time and looked it. It's a nice hotel but it's an Embassy not the Waldorf. Loosen up a little bit. We were given a King in the Aloha tower. The bedroom was right next to the elevator. The sound of the cables was the first thing that we noticed. When I called the desk I was informed that all king rooms in that wing were next to the elevators. We decided to stay and I'm glad that we did. It was the view over the city and the park that won me over and I didn't really notice the elevator cables for the rest of the stay.
There's plenty of great dining choices just feet from the hotel. No hotel restaurant but if you're hungry and don't want to walk the 150 feet there's good food at the pool bar.
Breakfast was fine and the late afternoon entertainment was fun.
Milan at the concierge desk was extremely helpful. With his guidance we were able travel the entire island without once renting a car. You haven't lived Oahu to it's fullest until you've done it by bus like the locals do. (He also knows the best places to party!)
Another tip is to allow for an extra $5 a day as a tip for your maid. You paid big bucks for this vacation and that paultry $5 will be well worth it. For that extra $30 during our stay, we had the best maid service anywhere! The room was cleaned by our schedule and everything was perfect.

My family of 4, 2 adults and 2 late teens, had a very nice stay at the Embassy Suites in June of this year. I had read a lot of the reviews and was prepared for the construction noise and possible slow elevators. We never had any problems with the elevators and we had the tower away from the construction and never heard any noise. We never used the pool, so I cannot comment on the noise factor there. We were on an upper floor and never experienced any street noise or other tennants noise. My wife is a very light sleeper and she had no problems. We had a one bedroom and it worked well with the four of us. The breakfasts each morning were a wonderful way to start our morning. Nice that it opened very early in AM. After a very busy day, it was nice at the evening reception to sit with a drink and some veges and chips before dinner. Walk to the beach was quick and heart of Waikiki Beach was only 10-15 min away. Many many restaurants and places to shop also were close. ABC stores were plentiful and close. We did rent a car and I was prepared for the 25.00/day valet parking. They were quick and friendly and it was nice having them take care of the car.
Long review, but it was difficult trying to decide where to stay, and my family was glad I finally decided on Embassy Suites. I would not hesitate to stay here again

My boyfriend and I stayed in a one-bedroom suite when we visited Waikiki Beach last weekend for his family reunion, and our entire stay was a treat, starting with the complimentary welcome cocktail as you check in. I found our room to be cool, clean, and comfortable, with a beautiful city view, mini fridge and microwave for our convenience, and even two flat screen TVs. The complimentary fresh cooked breakfast was wonderful every morning (the omelette station is a must), the pool was beautiful with a bar of yummy island cocktails, and the overall appearance of the hotel was lovely. The hotel is a very short walk from Waikiki Beach, and in the middle of a promenade of quality shopping, touristy shopping, and restaurants. Think Rodeo Drive, but with lit island torches. And the staff was very helpful and knowledgable of the area--they were able to make recommendations and get us transportation to wherever we needed to go, for a reasonable few dollars.
The only downside was the construction of the Trump tower next door, which provided a little noise, and a not so lovely visual from the pool, and some rooms. But otherwise, I would highly recommend the Embassy Suites for an island stay experience that is truly sweet.

This hotel was a wonderful place to stay while on vacation with my extended family. There were 14 people in all, and no one had a bad thing to say about the hotel. (VERY unusual, especially for my mother and I ... both hotel SNOBS!)
The rooms were clean and spacious. There was a small refrigerator, coffee maker, and a microwave.
The included breakfast was outstanding, probably the best one I have ever seen. There is everything you could possibly want to eat in the morning. Made to order omelette's, fresh fruit, breakfast potatoes, several assorted pastries, breakfast meats, etc. You can even sit outside in the sun which makes for a great start to the day.
The staff was extremely helpful in every way. The people in the gift shop/ store were so welcoming they treated us like we were family. They even learned some of our names. :-) Any staff we encountered or asked questions to were more than willing to give us help or opinions on activities, dining, etc.
The managers reception every night was awesome. For 2 hours, you could get free cocktails and snacks in the same area breakfast was served! (Right by the pool)
This hotel is not located right on the beach, however it was a short walk across the street and did not seem to bother anyone in our large group.
The location was wonderful. It was located right on the 'Beachwalk' where there are numerous great restaurants and wonderful shopping. Honestly, it was the perfect location on Waikiki.
If you get the chance, check out the Hula Grill. We had an excellent meal with great service, and the view of the ocean was incredible.

We stayed for 6 nights in a one bedroom suite. We were in suite 829 in the Hula Tower. First impression was that checking was friendly and efficient, then the room was at the end of the floor and had a view of the ocean, which we did not expect. The evening managers reception was great. Only minor criticism is that they didn't vary the snacks each day, to give some variety for those staying a week. Breakfast was top notch. Bedroom was quiet and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful, with one minor exception - a concierge who was less than helpful/interested. But as I say this was an exception. I had some trouble with internet access but plugged my own cable in (insetad of using the hotel's cable) and it worked fine. Great location with various family freindly restaurants a short walk away (we frequented PF Changs). Great relaxing place to stay and great for families (our kids are 6 and 8 years of age). I'll be returning to this hotel.
