If you want rooms that are quiet and dark when sleeping, do NOT stay here. Yes, the location is fantastic - but there are heaps of apartments in the same area. Yes, the breakfast is good - a five star price, but nice all the same. Yes, the decor is trendy, but this is rated a ‘5 star’ hotel. But, the rooms lack standard features of any hotel and are so very noisy its just silly. In the room, the wardrobe space is more or less non existent - I was no my own and could barely find the space to put things away, so a family of 4 would have no show. There are no towel racks in the bathroom on which to hang your towel, it’s the hook behind the door or nothing. And heaven forbid if you want a dark room when sleeping as the curtains are not block-out and let in the light. But by far the worst thing is the noise from the lifts. Located in the centre core of the hotel they have obviously not been soundproofed when built and the entire stay it sounds like you are sleeping at central station with the trains whooshing past. I did think it was just me, and I was overly sensitive, but I was staying for a conference and asked around and everyone said the same. Of all the hotels I have stayed in I think this is only the second time I have called the night manager in the middle of the night and asked to be moved the next morning - I was moved but it didn’t help. And, there was never an apology, or mention of my issues at all from any of the staff -not when I called (at 3.27am after being awake all night), when I changed rooms, or on checkout. My advice, spend you money elsewhere.

What a wonderful stay we had. Great location, fantastic rooms and very comfortable beds.

This hotel is great. I am a local and some friends and I were going out in Broadbeach and rather than have a desiganted driver or getting a cab, the Sofitel Braodbeach was a great idea. It is a modern clean hotel with everything you need plus more. The only downfall would be paying for parking (come on it's the Gold Coast) and the wait time for lifts, other than this i recommend to anyone and everyone.

we booked this hotel as we were attending a wedding that was being held here. after reading the reports, i wasn't really looking forward to our stay. we pulled up and were greeted by friendly staff who took our bags and had them in our room before we got up there. staff at check in were very robot like, not much of a smile and what she was saying was like a bad rehearsed speech. our room was lovely, we got a riverview room which i much prefer as the seaviews rooms have mostly been invaded by other highrisers. with the riverview rooms you can sit on your balcony with a glass of wine at night and watch the lights of the hinterland. i thought the rooms were large, very clean, lovely large bathroom. flat screen tv was tiny. aircon worked well. breakfast was good and staff very helpful. we stayed two nights, friday night was fine and we slept well, but the second night was different. even with the door closed, we heard all the people in the streets below. straight oposite was a 24 hour cafe and most nightclubbers, i think, attended this on thier way home. but this can only be expected in a busy place like broadbeach. over all our stay was pleasant and would stay here again.
