Cradled in the majestic Canadian Rockies, the Banff Caribou Lodge beckons the discerning traveler. The Lodge has 195 tastefully decorated rooms furnished in country maple and features the Keg Steakhouse and Bar, famous for great steaks and good friends. Amenities include a large hot tub, steam room and full service Spa opening in February, 2006, heated underground parking, individual ski lockers, at the Caribou Ski School. We have recently transformed our rooms into a corner of heaven with the Mountain Luxury bed, providing heavenly comfort.
For the dates of May 15th-Oct 15th 2006 upon check one card/coupon is issued per room per stay for a free half hour Canoe Rental with Blue Canoe Docks. Each guest will receive a FREE half hour canoe rental with Blue Canoe upon check in. Must be redeemed at the Bow River Blue Canoe Docks, located at the corner of Bow Ave and Wolf Street. We had the basic Queen twin room, which was big enough for both of us, with the best hotel beds we have slept in for a long time (feather beds). Staff were friendly and efficient. Parking was free. Stayed at the Caribou for 2 nights-2-4th July. Upon Check-in found we had arrived a bit early and had to wait 45 mins,so had a walk up the town which was about a 15 min walk. Our room was a standard with courtyard view you could just about see the top of a nearby mountain! The room was basic but adequate. We had dinner at the Keg which was okay but we found the food a bit oversalted. My wife used the steam room and small pool and found it to be fine. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We have just returned from The Caribou where we stayed for 5 nights and we had a wonderful time. Very friendly efficient staff and our room was excellent - very clean good sized bathroom, tv, coffee etc and underground parking. Ths hot tub in the spa was excellent after a hard days hiking! We also enjoyed a massage in the spa - total bliss and very good value. Close to town -only a 15 minute walk. The Keg Restaurant is of a very good standard, we enjoyed two meals here and both were excellent - fantastic steaks. Highly recommended!

Nice comfortable hotel with friendly staff. We had chosen a superior room, which was spacious with a lovely bathroom. The buffet breakfast was good. Lots of tour groups also stay here, but not a problem.

Having read the reviews on Trip advisor we stayed at the Caribou Lodge for 2 weeks over Easter, we were not disappointed. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, with any requests dealt with immediately. The rooms although a little short on storage space, were very clean and the beds very comfortable The breakfast at the Keg was a welcome start to the day, The Spa a welcome end to the day!! The bus service into Banff town stopped outside and was very regular and reliable. The town was only a short 15 min walk away and had a good selection of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. I would recommend this hotel and hope to visit again next year.
