My Fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hilo! The island is wonderful and very friendly. Snorkeling was our favorite thing to do while we were there and that alone was enough for us. The hotel was very clean and the staff was marvelous. Wish the rooms were a little bigger but im not one to complain. If your just looking for a fun trip i would recommend this hotel.

The staff is excellent, but most likely underpaid based on the condition of this hotel. The bathroom ceiling grides were rusted and the tiles falling out. Grout in the floor was black. The main room ceiling had been repaired but stucco was still missing in spots. The bedding had our room number wrote on it, and the mattress was beat. The door hardware doesn't meet ADA requirements. The TV I think was the first colored set manufactured. In short only stay here if nothing else is available.

I look forward to returning to this hotel but I was Super Nervous after reding the Trip Advisor reviews. Unless you are a Travel Snob, I encourage you to stay at Uncle Billy's. This is an older, Polynesian style property with a great staff, roomy & comfortable rooms and I was very comfortable here. It was a great value and as a female traveling alone, I felt very safe. The restaurant was wonderful and yummy, and I enjoyed the live Hawaiian music. I look forward to visiting this hotel again.

We stayed here one night. The exterior looks a little worn but the room was very clean and nice. The hotel clerks were wonderful and very accommodating. Would stay here again and recommend it to others. The rate was very affordable. Ask for the AAA rate.
