We just got back from Kihei - we had a terrible time finding our resort because we missed our flight on GO Airlines and it was hard to read street signs in the dark. but that's another story. Please tell people to avoid this airlines, we had close connections and missed our flight, because we booked on another airline, Go cancelled the next leg of our trip back to Honolulu and charged us to rebook the trip. Anyway, I thought this resort was in a great location - right across from a real popular beach. The inside was clean enough, not great but it had a kitchen, the stove didn't look that clean. We asked for a toaster but never got one- there was 2 blenders but no toaster. And no phone service, our cell didn't work in Hawaii and the mgr. said we'd get phone service but we never did. We liked Kihei alot and thought this resort was well priced just a few things that bugged us. But mostly GO Airlines bugged us.

My wife and I enjoyed our 2nd stay at the Maui Vista in March of this year. Our accomodation - a very nice one bedroom condo - was clean, well appointed and felt like home. We have found the Maui Vista to be a super location for us. It has excellent beach access and is located within easy walking distance of shopping and a variety of restaurants. You will need a car but travel from and to the airport is a snap. There is great access to roads to take you to anywhere you want to travel on the island.
Our original stay at this location was booked through a travel agent in Canada. For our last trip (March of 2007) we made our accomodation arrangements through Maui SUNCOAST Realty & Vacation Rentals. Randy and Kari St. Germain were extremely friendly and helped us make the right condo selection. We are just concluding our arrangements with Maui SUNCOAST for our 3rd stay with them for the month of March 2008. I would recommend contacting them at www.mauisuncoast.com or calling them @ 1-800-800-8608.

This place is really terrible. It is dirty and run down and has many young locals living here, who do not appreciate the tourist presence. At night time I could hear the young surfer alcoholics drinking it up and causing a lot of noise and commotion. It is definitely not the place for a family with young children and for the same price much better accomodations can be found. I strongly recommend the Wailea Escape condominium rental as it is both clean and affordable. I stayed there for my first week in Maui and came away both pleased and glad that I found such a well run, safe place.
Bottom line: Maui Vista is overpriced for the level of lodging it provides. It is a borderline run-down complex inhabited by many locals who enjoy partying late into the night.
