We stayed at this hotel on June 28th, 2008. It was our outbound hotel of our Cosmos Tour. Bus stops are located across the street. You can walk down to convience store 15 minutes away that has a produce stand located next to it. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed our Pizza of Ham with Pineapples acompanied by French Fries for dinner. We added a sandwhich to make sure we were filled up. Not much shopping located nearby but there is a dry cleaning service next to the hotel.

I stayed for three nights during a conference in nearby (3-5 minutes walking distance) University College Dublin (UCD). The staff were efficient, very friendly and refreshingly for Ireland mostly Irish. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice. THe room was clean and confrotable. Overall an excellent experience but it is not suitable for someone wishing a city centre location unless you are prepared to take the bus in and out. I booked on-lne, early and got a very good rate for Dublin.

I stayed in this hotel as I was attending a family funeral nearby. The first night was ok, room was not very modern. The staff in the bar downstairs were not very friendly and as an irishman working as a barman in an irish pub in germany found that they could not even pour a proper pint of Guinness. The next day we had to move to another room as we had not intended to stay an extra night. This room was terrible, the wallpaper in the bathroom was falling off. Then I noticed that the heater was on full blast even though it was pleasant outside. I tryed to turn it off but it was broken and would not go off. I complained at reception and the man told me they would take care of it. I went back up two hours later and it was still on. I returned to reception and asked to change rooms. The new room was ok. The next morning as I was going down to breakfast I noticed they had rented out the room with the broken heater to other unsuspecting tourists. Just when I thought it couldn not get any worse, I was sitting in the foyer waiting to leave when I felt a drop of water on my shoulder and looked up to find a leak in the ceiling and water falling onto the leather sofa. The staff covered it over with a sheet. I would not recommend this hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights recently due to a conference that he was attending at University College. The hotel seems to derive most of its business from its location next to the university. While we were there there were lots of visiting sports teams in the lobby and quite a few business people. The lobby, restaurant and bar look quite nice but the rooms are in need of updating. Our bathroom had peeling wallpaper and mold on the ceiling, no doubt because there was no bathroom fan. The shower head was low and I kept bumping my head on it. Neither the clock nor the hairdryer worked and the remote control for the tv only worked within a 2 ft. radius of the television. The breakfast served in the hotel restaurant was boderline edible. On the plus side the rooms were a reasonable size and were otherwise clean, there is plenty of parking, and the staff were friendly. Also, there is internet available: both wireless connections and a computer station to use. There does not seem to be much else within walking distance of the hotel but there is a bus stop just across the road that goes into Dublin every 10 minutes (a 10 minute trip). I wouldn't stay here unless you are attending something at University College, but it's tolerable enough.
