Like others, I too checked at the rail termini for last minute accomodations and asked for medium price within walking distance. The agent suggested the Stromboli and it was easy to find, breakfast was adequate, and the staff were pleasant to me. Sure the rooms are small and could be noisy but I spent most of the time out of the room touring. I recommend it and would stay there again.

The worst hotel experience I've ever had! If you don't mind paying for a hotel room that you can NOT sleep in...this is the place for you! Arrived to a very hot, pre-paid room...was told that the air-conditioning could not be turned on until June 1st. Asked for a fan, they had none. Opened the ONE (screenless) window in the room, hoping for some cooler evening air. Went to
dinner...came back, no luck! We had to leave the window open that night in order to breath. The noisy brick street, busy with it's constant traffic, honking horns, motor scooters, tourist buses, police sirens, and then early morning delivery trucks with their aluminum doors sliding up and slamming down, made it impossible to drift off for any more than a few minutes at a time. Not to mention trying to sleep on now wet sheets from pools of sweat!
The next morning we all looked forward to a nice cool shower. We did not however, expect it to come from the wall mounted toilet tank above the commode, which sprayed you with a fine mist every time you flushed! Inside of the actual shower stall, the glass doors were lined with black mildew, and the shower door feel off into your hands every time you tried to open or close it. There were no washcloths, nothing but thin linen towels to dry with, and no mat to step out on.
When we went down for breakfast, (which was nice), we shared with the staff how miserable our night had been and asked that something be done about the temperature in our room before we returned that evening. After a long day of sightseeing, we came back to find that our room key didn't work, and we had to wait for a master key to be located to open our door...and...our room was as hot as ever! So, we took things into our own hands and were fortunate enough to find a store where we could purchase a fan. With an hour of cooler night air being pulled in from the outside, we closed the window to reduce the street noise, and did get "some" sleep that night with the oscillating fan running back and forth over the 3 of us all night long.
The sheets were clean but our son pushed his computer bag under the edge of his bed for the night and the next morning when he pulled it out, it was filthy with dust bunnies the size of Rhode Island attached to it.
We left the fan at the hotel, and told the front desk staff to keep it for the next guest. No one should have to pay to endure a miserable night as we did!
Not a chance for a recommendation from us for this hotel, other than, "RUN! DON'T WALK."
Ciao!

This hotel is located at an excellent place, right in front of Roma Termini, and just a few steps away from Termini bus station. That was the fact that prompted us to book this hotel. We arrived by 5 PM, which is a bad time for enthusiastic first-timers, as Rome closes by 730 PM.
We were given a room on top floor, which faced a huge old building, having statues of 2 naked children right in front of our window. Sometimes at night, that can be a scary sight by all standards. Regardless of your state of sleep, you will be forced to wake up at 7 by thunderous church bells. Reception staff are OK. We had to sleep all night with windows open, as ventilation wasn't working. When we inquired next morning, we were told that city's municipality had not authuroized switching-on central airconditioning units, as "official summer" had not yet started. That was weird, but we decided to live with it, and with a barrage of ambulances and police cars passing underneath with their horns pumping at fullest all night.
Breakfast was OK, eggs are good. Rooms are very old, with no carpeting at all. Amenities are pre-historic, especially TV, toilets and beds are very old. Toilets were rather creepy, and blankets & bedsheets were burnt with cigarettes. I admit to committing a violation of their policies, by asking for extra towels. Also note that their towels are merely toilet rolls, not the usual fluffy towels we're used to.
Location is great. Roma termini is virtually center of city, and you can find buses going everywhere. Bus network is quite simple to understand. We reached all desired places with great ease. Internet service inside hotel in like an old arcade game, and is very slow.
Overall, a mediocre choice.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my fiance for his 30th and post chirstmas get away.
We arrived there at 1100am which is earlier than the check in time and without any moaning they checked us in straight away.
They gave us a street map of Rome, and were welcoming
The room was clean. (which was the most important thing!)
It had en-suite with shower
It had TV - with sky
It had a fridge.
It had a king sized bed.
We were happy with the room, it wasn't the largest and they don't have Tea and Coffee facilities however there is a machine to get these from downstairs...
Breakfast was included, Continental.
The room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels put in. (Take shower gel etc)
The hotel is a good location, we could walk to near enough everywhere.

the hotel is easy to find, walk out of the station heading right the hotel is down the very next side street, all transport links to surrounding Rome are based at the Termini station inclding metro bus and train links to the airports so ideal, where ever you are in town you can find a bus back to the Termini. Even at night when the night buses operate. I couldnt imagine trying to navigate to another part of town, so staying near the station is a must.
Our room was basic but clean and all you would expect for the price, excellent value for money id say. In our room we had sky TV (ok all the channels were in Italian) with a seperate shower room ensuite. I was very impressed with the cleanliness esp after reading some reviews for other B&Bs/ hostels in the area. This hotel is all you need for a few nights of sightseeing in Rome.
The price you pay also includes breakfast, this is a self service breakfast with tea/ coffee or juice, cereals, pastrys, scrambled eggs, hams and cheese, yogurts, and fruit as much as you like can be consumed so brilliant for starting your day of sight seeing on.
no complaints from me and i would definately stay again and recommend this hotel to others.
