This met our need for hassle free base for rental car touring of the immediate area. Did not want the hassle of downtown parking, traffic, etc. Property was clean, well-managed and had a very good hot breakfast (included in price of room). Biggest disadvantage was lack of walkable restaurants in immediate area.

What a treat to stay someplace where the staff seemed pleased to be there and anxious to make your stay as pleasant as possible! The rooms are spacious for a hotel room (though 'suite' is a little bit of a stretch, it's only one room after all, though a big one with a sofa). The evening and morning complimentary food and beverages is great and more generous than other places advertising the same sorts of services, and again, the staff manning them was wonderful. The pool is nice with skylights that make it feel outdoors plus there's a fully equipped exercise room, as well as a steam room and a sauna. Complimentary internet worked flawlessly my whole stay. My room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Really, really easy on/off I-5 access, so driving places is a breeze. The in room fridge and microwave are a nice touch.
I ran into the same issue someone else mentioned about specifying a non-smoking room and then being given a room without that designation. The desk staff insisted it was a non-smoking room, and indeed I cannot say I detected recent smoke, so I guess they were right. Perhaps they just need to update some signage.
The room's climate control system was a little noisy; I learned to make sure the fan was set to be on all the time so there was no disturbance from it turning on and off. There were a few things here and there showing some age (paint scuffs, somewhat worn carpet), but everything was clean and functional, which is more than I can say for other places I have stayed which seemed to place more emphasis on cosmetic concerns. I far prefer clean and functional to more recent updates, but that may not be the case for everyone.
Overall, I found this a great place to stay for people who need to drive to places in and around Portland.

Mom & I stayed over the US Thanksgiving weekend.
Check in was a breeze. The front desk staff was excellent.
Bountiful hot breakfast and night time hors d'oeuvres with "drinks" were two meals of our day (what an added bonus!) Kitchen/bar staff was very friendly. Coffee was EXCELLENT!
Shopped 'til we dropped ... Woodburn Outlets, as well as Portland malls ... all easy to get to as Oxford Suites is directly off the I-5. Jantzen Beach mall is directly across I-5 from here.
Rooms large with sitting area, tub/shower/toilet separate from vanity/sink, which works for two ladies trying to get out the door in the morning! Always clean and tidy. Did not hear any other guests, except heard other flushing toilets if you were in your bathroom.
Parking easy and plentiful.
Has business centre (internet access) if you want to keep up with family via email.
Have stayed here before AND will stay here again.
Thanks to all the Oxford Suites staff for making this a memorable weekend for a mother/daughter team!

I was told about this hotel by a company rep. Booked it through Portland Big Deal, which was a great way to go.
My friend and I got there about 11pm. Check in was smooth, staff was friendly and professional.
We were pleased to see the room, it was exactly what we reserved - no surprises (like one bed instead of two or smoking room) . The room was clean, comfortable, and the beds were perfect.
Breakfast was good - lots of choices and well prepared.
The staff was great, when we asked for ice cream spoons and bowls late one night they opened the breakfast room and got them for us.
We will certainly be staying there again.

When I made the res, I emphasized a NON smoking room (prefer floor) is a must. We got into the hotel late, so it was probably one of the last ones left. They just gave us any old room. It was NOT what I had booked and it was definitely a smoking room which we've been given. Front desk insisted that it was a non-smoking room, but the signage clearly indicated otherwise. It didn't matter, we needed to move to a different room on a non-smoking floor. This hotel was suppose to have been given a face lift recently, but it was more like as-required-updating to me. I found the lighting in bathroom dark and dull and had no mirrors in there. There were many lights at the indoor pool area that needed to be placed; it was like swimming in an outdoor pool at night, but not. The ventilation in the dining room was poor, you wore the smell of what you had for breakfast out. The comp. breakfast and evening snacks/drink was a nice touch. It was decent value, but we won't be staying here again.
