My daughter and I stayed at the Oxford Suites during our tour of college campuses. She loved Chico State and we were both happy with the hotel. The room was clean and spacious enough for two of us, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the extras were very nice - free wine/beer and snacks in the evening, free full breakfast in the morning. The only glitch was a temporary one - they are remodeling, so there was a worker on scaffolding right outside our second floor room on playing his radio quite loudly at 8:00 am! We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. They went the extra mile and made a few personal touches in the room for us. It was a coxy relaxing weekend in the middle of the crazy holiday season. Check out the Jacuzzi room! What a treat. Looking forward to next time.
Great place to stay!

We had a great stay at Oxford Suites. They accomodate dogs, so we were able to bring out small Boston Terrier. The room is in need of being updated, but I figured they didn't give us the best room because of the pet. ALL of the employees are really nice (from the maids to the diner staff). The breakfast and evening drinks/apps were outstanding. Better food than most restaurants in Chico. We will definitely be back in the future!!

We stayed here during the Thanksgiving holiday and was glad to get two ajoining rooms here.
When we arrived I was shocked at the quality of the rooms. I had stayed here ten years ago when the hotel was new and unfortunately they have done no updating since they opened in the mid 90's. The sofa was worn, the pillows were hard, the bed was okay, no ventilation in the bathrooms, and it had a VCR in the room.
They had a complimentary cocktail hour which we didn't use but the breakfast we did. It was okay since it was free but I would have rather gone across the street to IHOP.
If Oxford Suites would put some money into updating their rooms it might be a decent place to stay. Until then I'll go to the Marriott when I visit Chico.

We needed to travel to the Chico area for business and we decided on an extra night of pleasure. What a disappointment. We booked the room at least 3 weeks in advance. We checked in after the 3:00 pm check in and were told that our room that we had reserved was not available until at least 5:30 pm. The brusque and surly clerk with an unkempt appearance was unfriendly and told us that that was the way things were done. He also told us that he was "breaking the rules" to give us the AAA discount that was advertised on the website and in the advertising sent by the motel. The room is second class at best. It is narrow and uncomfortable. The couch has the upholstery wearing off and there is binding material showing through. There are paint spots on the wall that show me that this is a rough and tumble motel and that on the weekends this could be quite the rowdy spot. As I look out my window down to the courtyard, I see some pretty rough characters drinking beer and playing loud music. This Inn offers an evening cocktail hour or so of wine and appetizers. We stuck our head in and decided that this crowd was a bit rowdy for us. We'll check in on the breakfast bar in the morning. This is within walking distance of a Red Lobster, Applebee's and Olive Garden. The path to walk from the Oxford Inn across the streed to the restaurants is dark and dangerous crossing. If you are older or disabled, this is not the venue for you.
