We used the Park Plaza as an overnight stop between a number of flights. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location is only good for its proximity to the airport and the shuttle worked fine for us even though we arrived late. Breakfast in the dining room was enjoyable and reasonably priced. A comfortable hotel.

We stayed for two nights at the Park Plaza Hotel in Oakland- we found that the hotel is fairly run down. The rooms are small and they do not offer much. The toiletries were below average. The property gave you the sense of not being very safe. The pool area was not inviting. It is a good location by the airport and the free shuttle is nice. The staff is very friendly and that helps. I would probaly look for another hotel if I stay in Oakland again.

Our company holds field training classes around the country and I booked a 3 day class there and our trainer came back with unfavorable comments about this hotel. First off the staff was not helpful and the management was even worse. Trying to get someone to correct a mistake (catering manager's fault) that resulted in personal expense to our trainer was next to impossible! I tried for about a week to contact a manager and finally spoke to that person who was unapologetic about the mistake. She aknowledged the mistake but I was told that our trainer would not be compensated! We plan to hold another field training class in this area and needless to say, we will not book again with the Park Plaza. Very bad experience so stay away from this hotel!

Business travelers should avoid this hotel like the plague. I was suckered in by its proximity to the airport and the good reviews. Don't know what those people were thinking. 1. Place is a dump. Dirty, looks more like a cheap motel than the hotel in the pictures. 2. There is a $50 early check-in fee that they charged me for checking in any time before 3pm. This isn't very helpful for a business traveler who would find it easier to check in a bit earlier to make a meeting. 3. Phones are awful. Echo was so bad on phones in two different rooms that colleagues had to call on cel with worse reception due to airport proximity. 4. Restaurant - rude service, poor selection of food. They refused to let me order lunch at 10:55am, saying they could only do it 11am and after. STAY AWAY!!!!
