Hard-as-rock mattress, ever-changing water temperature and pressure while showering and horrid road noise, including drag racing at 2 a.m. But the REAL reason not to stay: they make a photocopy of your driver's license and then imprint your credit card on to the same sheet of paper where any employee or former guest could use your card number. They refused to give back my credit card info. They also made a second charge on to my card for which they gave me no receipt or notification, nor did I sign for the additional charges. The second charge was made 2 minutes after the actual room charge was completed.

I had a long hard day that ended at 11 pm. I was at my clinical rotation at Shriners Hospital in Sacramento. I had to be back at the hospital by 7 am. When I got to my room and took off my shoes the floor was wet, everywhere. Not only that, the air was thick and musty in the room because of the wetness. Through the night all I could hear was the freeway and a drunk guy having an extended and very loud conversation with what sounded to be a hotel employee. By morning my asthma was exacerbated due to the wet-heavy air related to the carpets. I noted this with the guy at the front counter but he did not seem to care. Needless to say I was not in top form for my clinical rotation at the hospital. I was very disappointed. I should have stayed at the comfort inn next door.

Okay, but some problems

The room was extremely noisy with road noise. I am so glad I had earplugs. Bed was not good. I felt the springs. Wasn't TERRIBLE but not great. Service staff at desk very nice and helpful. Extra towels were provided when requested.
Not a problem

We pulled off the freeway and into the driveway to book a room as I was starting to remember the horrible reviews I'd read about this place. We were greeted by a very helpful girl - checked out our room before paying - and it was very nice. The bed was comfortable (yes, sheets were not tucked in and looked older, used quality - however, were clean). New paint, air worked fine; noticed only two washcloths so asked for another and received two. The area is noisy - corner of busy street and freeway, but don't think it'd be much better at the Motel 6 or Quality Inn nearby. Our carpet had several tears, but overall, the room was clean and staff friendly. Yes, continental breakfast is a bust - sugar donuts, juice and coffee/tea - but not unexpected. I'd say quality-wise, it's between a Motel 6 and a Super 8. I think management has really upgraded it over the past year or so because it was definately not a bad place to stay at all. I'd go there again for sure.
