We stayed here as part of our Cruise West cruise before boarding the ship. The hotel was just average but I'm not sure there is much better in Juneau. The location was fine for downtown shopping and site seeing. When we first arrived it was an exceptionally warm (80 degree) day so the room was hot (no air conditioning or ceiling fans) on the sunny side of the hotel. I complained and they gave me a room around to the side that wasn't as good of a view but was a little cooler and a little quieter. The staff was very nice. There is a Chinese Restaurant in the lobby which is not fancy but the food was good and the service was fast and friendly.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had no problems. Nice large room with a comfortable king bed and good-sized bath with all the amenities you'd expect in any moderate-priced US hotel--not luxurious, but perfectly adequate. The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and the location can't be beat for access to downtown Juneau and the waterfront. Two minor criticisms: front desk staff is courteous, but not warm; TV would not accept channel number input from remote, so we had to scroll through channels to get the one we wanted. But again, overall a very enjoyable stay.

As other reviews indicate, there is nothing particularly special about the rooms at the Goldbelt, but the location is top notch for being in downtown Juneau and not needing a car. We found the rooms to be comfortable and clean, pretty good bathroom, and our 7th floor front room was reasonably quiet with very good views. Shuttle from airport was very convenient, and our check-in was smooth; the desk also was helpful with restaurant recommendations. We found breakfast at the hotel to be ok, but dinner at Zen was quite good. All in all we were quite satisfied and would return.

I have stayed at the Goldbelt several times on business to Juneau the latest was last week. The hotel could use some sprucing up of their dated furniture and flooring. Great views on the Harbor side, especially on a rare clear day.
The have remodeled their restaurant, I have not eaten there yet but it is always busy so they must be doing something right.
The location is what makes this the best place to stay. It is within walking distance of everything in downtown Juneau.

We stayed here at the end of a Ketchikan to Juneau Inside Passage cruise on Cruise West. In advance, we had booked an extra night 6 mos in advance, informed hotel that we wanted water view in combination with the first night that was arranged by Cruise West. Called the hotel a week in advance of cruise to confirm & explain about the extra night. When we checked in they had us in a rear of hotel view. Hotel was booked solid & they couldn't change us to water view. Very poor ventilation & no AC in room. They have a fan that we put in front of open window to get air flow. We had a 6 am flight & had arranged for a 3:45 am wake up call that they forgot about!! Luckily, we had also set alarm clock in room.
Room was spacious w/ small TV. Otherwise, adequate, but not special. Staff were friendly & helpful. There was a single computer available in lobby w/ internet access, but could not print boarding pass for flight because printer wasn't working.
Hotel is directly across from the dock where Cruise West ships come in so it is very convenient, but far enough away from where the large ships come in so that you are not bothered by them. It is a short walk to center of Juneau one way & to the museums the other direction.
