Booked this last minute and it turned out to be a good idea. My friend and her husband booked 3 months ago. I called on Monday and we got in for the weekend.
this is my tip for you all: the reservation gal said to always call the hotel 5-6 days before because they have a 7-day cancellation and rooms open up. This place is huge - rooms are spread out all over so don't think its in that mansion on the website. Staff was very good, food was A+. Our friends had a much larger unit than ours but they paid more. We paid about $200 with all the taxes. The grounds were meticulously manicured and the rooms were spotless (our friends said the same) so I would definitely go back if we go back to the Napa Valley.

Stayed at the Silverado for several nights at the end of June. The resort has the gracious aura of a bygone era. The grounds are beautiful and the Silverado Spa was great. We were booked into a two bedroom cottage adjacent to the pool, which was a perfect location for our purposes. I will say that location is very important, and it is worth some research to find the best area on the property for your needs. For example, there are nice cottages on the south side of the golf course which would be great for a group of friends (golfers) or familty reunion, but they are secluded and hard to get to without driving or depending on the hotel shuttle. If you are looking to take advantage of the main hotel amenities (restaurants, main pool, spa) and meet other resort guests, then make sure you are near the main building. Only minuses: Decor in the cottages could use some updating. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy but the beige on beige look is pretty boring. Also, we ate twice at The Grill restaurant. First meal was outstanding, but the second time, a $27 lobster stir-fry was virtually inedible. Hit or miss. All in all, we had a wonderful time at the Silverado. The surroundings are outstanding and the location for wine tasting purposes (Silverado Trail) cant be beat.

What a disappointment! The setting and the grounds are beautiful but the place is a dump! We rejected the first two rooms (dungeons with no light) we were offered and finally settled in room 297. The decor is 1970s Motel 6. Terrible linens, small room, no real door (just a sliding glass entrance) The bathroom was the worst I have seen in a hotel in years. Small (the toilet just about touched the tub) and dingy.
Service is non-existent. There was a dirty glass on the small patio (calling it a patio is actually an overstatement) when we arrived. It was still there when we left 2 days later. Staff is not friendly or helpful. For instance, I asked the front desk where the nearest pool was to our room. She suggested I find a map and look it up myself!
The spa is old and outdated. However, the water aerobics class was great (wonderful instructor)
Stay elsewhere. Napa is too beautiful to ruin your trip with a such a miserable hotel

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room I was in had a paper thin wall connecting me to the condo of another family. I felt like I was staying with this family as I could hear their every word, bodily function and movement. I called the front desk for assistance and received no help, nor compensation when I talked with them upon check out. The room was dingy and a bit like a motel 8. The beds were sagging and old, carpet stained, garbage under the beds and no windows so it was really dark inside. My friends staying the same weekend had a power outage in their wing. The front desk was called and then forgot to do anything so they were without power for over 10 hours! They called again and the new staff at the desk had no idea the power was even out. Another set of friends had to be moved due to noise coming from the family next door.
The only door to my room was a sliding glass door that opened up to the the quad. Because of this, any time I wanted to be in my room or get ready, I had to shut the curtain which left me in a dark cave of a room as there were no windows at all.
The staff at the restaurant was overworked, tired, grumpy and rushed. Not impressive.
And - as soon as you get there you have to initial that you will pay $20 extra for a resort fee....even if you aren't planning to use the sevices listed. What is that about?
There are plenty other places to stay in Napa that will be more worth your time and money. Look for them.

We were planning a wine country getaway for my husband and I and decided on Napa because a client suggested Silverado Country Club. We usually stay at Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton but decided to take a chance and are so happy we did. We had a great suite on Cottage Drive- spacious, comfortable beds- we even had mimosas in our robes out on the patio one morning.
My husband enjoyed playing the North Course. He also loved his morning jog- Atlas Peak Road circles the resort. The spa was very nice, not the most opulent facility, however, I had the Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage and it was heavenly. The last time I had one was in Kauai and this one was even better than I remember.
The concierge was fabulous- very friendly, great suggestions.
They booked us a private tour of Regusci winery which was wonderful. Cole's Chophouse downtown is a must do and we were pleasantly surprised at the resort's own Royal Oak restaurant. We flew Virgin America for the first time out of Las Vegas to San Francisco and will never fly another airline if VA is an option. It was less than Southwest at $143 roundtrip each with brand new planes, all the bells and whistles and no lines. It's also the first gate out of SFO so no lines!
We will definitely return stay at Silverado Country Club and are already looking at dates for Crush!
