I was a bit concerned because the reviews were so variable, but we had a great time. Check in was smooth and early, ample room in our two bedroom suite. Staff were great, pool was fantastic as was the workout room. My husband is a swimmer and was thrilled to find a junior olympic pool on the roof. Hotel is a bit quirky- no reason to charge for pots, pans, plates, etc. but they do, so we had to make do with plastic forks, knives and spoons from the local Subway. We couldn't figure out where the there there was in midtown- it seems odd to be in a city where people live with no supermarkets, few restaurants etc. nearby but that was not the fault of the hotel and maybe we didn't stay long enough to get the lay of the land. I just have the sense that they don't totally have their customer service act together but if they did this would be a fabulous place. Easy to get to on Marta from the airport and easy to get everywhere else. Starbucks is four blocks away. Great prices for our wonderful apartment.

I really wanted to stay at the Georgian Terrace because of its location and historic character. However, some of the reviews on this site gave me such pause that I actually made backup reservations at the Marriott just in case. As it turned out, we loved the Georgian Terrace and cancelled the Marriott reservations within minutes after checking in. We arrived at 2 p.m. and were promptly & smoothly checked in even though we hadn't requested early check-in. The front desk clerk was friendly and efficient. There was free fresh lemonade and ice water in the lobby. While I checked in, my husband chatted with the concierge, who was amazing! He gave us a host of great recommendations & helped us out with questions throughout our stay. Our "room" was a suite at an amazing rate ($129/night). It was super-clean, well-furnished and had two televisions. Several times during our stay we called the front desk with special requests (e.g., Band-Aids, extra shampoo), and the items were brought to our door within minutes. The hotel as a whole is beautiful & the service is stellar. It's hard for us to understand the poor reviews! We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Overall, this is a lovely place to stay. The hotel still has great charm, as it is an historic landmark. It is an ideal place to stay if you're seeing a show at the Fox Theater (an amazing venue directly across the street). My room was essentially a 1 bedroom apartment, spacious and comfortable. The hot water in the shower did not initially work, but a maintenance man arrived 10 minutes after calling and promptly fixed it. My only complaint is the service at the terrace bar. Lousy beer selection, mixed drinks were very good, very expensive, and took a very long time to be delivered to outdoor table. I would stay here again, but walk a few blocks to The Vortex for dinner and drinks.

I booked with the hotel (not a third party travel site) in advance for a double room with two queen beds. When I checked in, promptly at 3 pm (the earliest possible check in time) they didn’t have any double rooms available. They put me in a temporary room so I had some where to put my luggage, but told me not to unpack. They took my cell phone number so they could call me as soon as they had my double room available. When I came back from shopping and sight seeing, they had forgotten to deal with my room and still had nothing available. While they did lower my rate, the room I was in only had one bed and there were two of us staying in the room and the bed was not big enough for two (it seemed like a single bed) so one had to sleep on a pull out couch. The phone in the bed room didn’t work (luckily the one in the tv area did). The alarm clock didn’t work, and you had to wait about 5 minutes for the desk to pick up every time you called for a wake up call (or anything else). It’s a pretty hotel, but I’d never stay there again, and way too expensive for what you get.

The Georgian Terrace Hotel is a landmark in Atlanta & directly across the street from the Fabulous Fox Theatre (Playhouse). I made reservations nearly 5 months early for my family to ensure we had a two bedroom / two bath to enjoy after going the play. I even called the hotel to ensure our reservations were in order. When I got to the hotel we were checked into a one bedroom / one bath. When I went to the front desk I was told the reservation was more of a guideline than a guarantee & the room we had reserved was not available. No other accommodations were provided. We paid the price for a 2 BR/2 Bath & provided with a different room. I would not recommend this hotel.
